I did him for you but it isn't perfect since that guy always smile (I did a bit of not too obvious cut and paste to remove it) but it should do if you need him now... BTW creating a new game with the live start sure take a long time, no wonder I don't play current day ML

John Karst
Quote:
Infielder Jack Karst played one game in the majors but never made a plate appearance. A Philadelphia, PA native who attended the University of Pennsylvania, Karst had a tryout with Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics in spring 1914 but instead played in the minors that year with the Portsmouth Truckers of the Virginia League. In May, he requested and received his release from Portsmouth. Karst was signed by the Brooklyn Robins in 1915 but broke his leg in the spring while sliding into second base. He rejoined the club late in the season and made his big-league debut on October 6th, facing the Philadelphia Phillies in the season's final game. He played third base for the last two innings of the game, helping to turn a double play in the 8th, but never got an at-bat. He briefly joined the Troy Trojans in 1916, but his baseball career soon ended due to lingering effects of his previous leg injury. He went on to be a claim adjuster for an automobile insurer in his post-baseball life. I ran a great many iterations of him to try to get the AI to get me the gist of his face looking toward the camera. I settled on this younger looking one.

Paul Maloy
Quote:
Biff Maloy was a “new find from the wilds of Michigan” who joined the reigning world champion Boston Red Sox in mid-1913 and pitched the bottom of the eighth inning on July 11 in St. Louis with Boston down 5-1 to the Browns. The right-hander hit the first batter, but retired the next three, each one on a groundball with the batter thrown out at first. Longtime Boston Globe sportswriter Tim Murnane, who’d played eight years himself and managed the Boston Reds in 1884, allowed as how “after good coaching (Maloy) may prove of American League timber.” Eleven days later after his debut, with Cleveland leading 6-4 after six innings, Maloy took the mound again and found rough going. He walked the first man, hit the second, threw the ball away on the third batter, and then gave up a double and a triple. He finally got out of the frame, but Murnane’s judgment now pegged him a “toy pitcher.” On the first of August, or possibly the day before, he was sold to Worcester. Asked what his most outstanding achievement in baseball was, it was, he wrote, “when I was sold to Boston Red Socks – who were world champions.” It meant a lot to him that he had played with the reigning world champions, even though they finished fourth the year he was with them. In a December 7, 1972, letter to the Hall of Fame, he wrote, “Could you possibly send me another letter … confirming the fact that I did in fact play with the world champions of 1913 and that my name is listed in the baseball hall of fame.” He added, “I receive requests for my signature from people all over the country and quite a few from boys in the service.” He had five grandsons and three granddaughters at the time. Cliff Kachline at the Hall of Fame wrote him a kind letter in response acknowledging that Maloy had played with the team defending its 1912 world championship, but also noted its fourth-place finish in 1913. - SABR Took a stab at Maloy this evening before I head out for a week-long business trip tomorrow morning. It's tough. I wish I could see how wide his face is. I made it a bit narrower than the AI contemplated it. He was only 21 when he got his cup of coffee so, I included but downplayed some of the facial lines that the newsprint accentuated. On this one I really had to put faith in the AI turning that head around and giving me a reasonable idea of what he may have looked like staring at a camera. Either way, a good faith effort that is better than a fake Bickford file.

Thanks! 1916 should be completed in the middle of the week... Giants are almost completed, so seven teams to go (I didn't check if they had many rookies but I suppose they won't since that year didn't seem to have that many of them). At least I hope the Athletics won't have a bunch of one or two games nobodies with awful pictures to work with this time
![]() Have a good trip...

One less of those no picture players in my 1916 works
![]() This is part of what I will send for the new pack and post in my next update but I wanted to show you an example of the less than ideal picture we must work with sometimes... but even a approximation of what someone could looks like is better than some random game FG or that face we all learn to hate ![]() But that guy just show up to get one base on ball in real life so he will probably never play in a game simulation...

Welp, top D-Backs prospect Jordan Lawler is being called up today in real life, and he could use an updated facegen.

I gave him a try for you since LansdowneSt is busy with work this week... I'm sure he can improve the facial hair but if you want him now this is certainly better than what I saw in your game capture.
