Historical game real transactions question

Obviously the game is set to use the as played schedule when you use the real transactions feature. Does anyone know if it's required that you use the as played? Not talking real lineups, just real transactions. For example, 1978, am I required to use the as played schedule with features game 163 between the Red Sox and Yankees or can I import the as scheduled schedule prior to the season's start?

As Played would be a necessity if using real lineups. It's not a requirement if using real txns but not using real lineups. Works just fine
