Talking *** The 4.0c Patch... ***

... is being tested right now! For those of you who cannot wait, here is the link to the latest version:

<a href="http://www.ootpbb.com/files/ootp40c.zip" target="_blank">http://www.ootpbb.com/files/ootp40c.zip</a>

The official release of the patch will be tomorrow, so this might not be the final patch.
If you find any problems with this one, please email to markus@ootpbb.com, and let me know

By the way... kinda sad that the big announcement
was "announced " too early. Anyway, I hope you like our idea to gather some of the best text based sims under one roof.

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

Here's the list of fixes:

Here are the fixes:
- Improved player development algorythms
- Fixed 100% CPU usage problem
- Fixed squeeze bunt crash
- Fixed PB/WP game-ending crash
- Added "on base" indicator in lineup screen during games
- Added Lahman Database 4.5 support

Remember that this is the beta version of the patch so things may still need to be tweaked and/or fixed.

It is an excellent idea, having all of these sims under one roof.

I'm downloading it now...has anyone had a chance to test the CPU usage fix? I've been playing OOTP for 4 hours today and it's shot my CPU temp up to 143 degrees (I average around 120).

Check the General Discussions forum the Big Announcement is there.

Essentially Markus and Joe have co-founded a new company: .400 Software Studios and have gathered some of the best text sim game developers out there to work with them to produce a suite of games under the .400 Software Umbrella. One of the games will be a new RPG Baseball sim, where you are the player, called Inside the Park Baseball.

You can get the rest of the details here:
<a href="http://www.ootpbb.com/board/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001672" target="_blank">http://www.ootpbb.com/board/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001672</a>

There is also a FAQ for you to address questions about the new company here:

To warn you guys there is a bug in this patch that has already been reported with the Lahman 4.5 Import... so you won't want to use that feature yet...

We warned you it was the beta version of the patch

Edit -

To re-iterate, Lahman 4.5 Pitcher Import Problem bug with Patch 4.0c has already been reported...

I can't get the new Lahman database to work right. Can anyone verify this?

Markus, don't feel bad!

Take the pre-empt as a compliment...the community enthusiasm is amazing!

If you announce the Big Announcement and everyone just yawns...THAT's the time to feel bad.

Would someone please elaborate what the 100% CPU usage problem is all about? I must have been absent the day that was discussed.

Thanks

Am i correct in assuming it is reffering to your comps CPU and not an AI thing?
