What The H? Budget Problem
What in the actual H is going on here. I'm playing as the A's. I just started the game and I'm already $33,863,875 in the hole? Something has to be wrong here. Maybe a setting I missed? Any help would be great. Thanks!
The system isn't allowing me to attach a screenshot. Sorry. If someone can tell me how to do that, it would be great, too. Thanks for helping the newb. |

"Manage attachments" is in the "additional options" area when you make a post. You can add a screenshot there.

RE: Budget Problem
Alright, let's see if this works. It says I've uploaded the screenshot.

I fired up a new MLB game, this is what my Oakland front office page looks like after opening day.
-18m available, so yes I see what you're saying, but it's not a "problem", they just have a ridiculously miniscule budget that leaves no room to do anything with. Last edited by snepp; 08-18-2023 at 12:25 AM. |

I've never played with a small market team, but that was the whole moneyball thing with the A's, right? You aren't going to have much of a budget with them - so drafting and developing would be crucial. Finding some "deals" in free agency. Maybe trading a few of those free agent deals at the deadline for more prospects and then attempting to win in a small window before those developed prospects are extension eligible would be the key....
I remember you saying you were new to the game in a previous thread. You're taking on the challenge of all challenges with the A's --- that's a tough team to build a winner with due to those budget restraints. If you build a winner though, it's going to take years, a good sense of what you're doing and some luck. First few seasons could be a lot of losses. If you're gonna go that route, I'd say set the option where you can't be fired lol. New to the game, I would suggest getting your feet wet with a different team. Maybe find a team with a good farm system and a decent budget to start. Playing with the A's is kind of like jacking the game up to max-challenge mode. Forgot I had scouting turned off for some reason, that's where the rest of the money would have been. If it would have been on it would have matched your figure.

If you're new and want to play a low budget team try Tampa. though if you want a real challenge put force Franco into retirement since he may never play ball again

Super low budget, and trying to put 40M into draft and development budget, eats up all the cash available.
