OOTP 24 Known Issues

Here are some known issues that we're working on fixing. This is not a complete list, but some of the more major things.

-There seems to be some random crashing or freezing while playing out games in 3d for some folks. This is not widespread so if you experience this, you may just need to update your video card drivers. If you still experience this after doing that, then please post in the bug reports forum with as much information as possible about the circumstances where this happens.

-Some historical seasons, particularly in the 19th and early 20th century have a low amount of runs scored when you check this on the league accuracy report.

-Facegens are too pale on Mac

-The 3d models for Camden Yards, Comerica Park and other parks that have changed are not updated. Unfortunately, for various reasons, if and when these get updated is out of our control at the moment.

-There's a bug which means some KBO player histories do not correctly load.

-In the roster set history (MLB new standard game in 2023), stats for the Yankees from 1903-1912 are incorrectly linked to the Orioles/Browns.

-2022 attendance figures are inaccurate.

-There was an error in selecting the licensed players for the KBO that means some stars like Kim Hyun-soo and Choi Won-joon have accidently had their names randomized. This will be fixed in the next patch.

Hi - Having problems with ball parks in a franchise mode. The ball parks show up correctly in the team screen, but not when playing a game (they are all generic). Attached screenshots of Turner Field, but the problem is with other fields too (Brewers, Padres) although some show correctly (Wrigley). Is this the same issue as above with 3D generation - or should I report this somewhere else? Can I fix it myself?

I'm on a Mac, just bought OOTP24, can't import v23 games at all...tried all the fixes online, but very obscure, and my machine isn't cooperating. I'm stymied, frustrated and worse.

What's worse, big letters on the interface, click the HELP button....which of course, does not exist.

I don't have a Mac but have seen that some of the permissions etc. are a little tricky when trying to move files. Can you be more descriptive about what the error message is or where in the steps it is breaking down? There are plenty of Mac users that might recognize a problem they too once had to overcome... but more detail would need to be provided.

Same here. I actually lost two of my dynasties in trying to transfer the files over, so I’ll just have to start new ones. I’ve had OOTP since version 18 and never had a problem until now.

For one of my dynasties I may have a recent backup. I’ll send an email to support and see if they can help.

I will try to find the thread where I managed (with help from Matt) to overcome the difficulty in file transfer on a Mac. I’m a happy Apple fan, but in this instance their insistence on “containers” necessitates new paths for 24 versus 23. That’s my take on why transfer of season sims is not easy, like it was from 22 to 23 and 21 to 22 on a Mac. Rest assured that it can be done, with multiple steps involved.

Any answer on this? Transferring in a save from 23 to 24 on a Mac should not be this difficult and a tutorial should have already been posted long ago.

I've never experienced any problems with the game (OOTP24). Today I was playing game one of the NLWCS and immediately following my win (which was a 5-4-3 double play) the game stuttered quickly and then abruptly froze and crashed.

Very frustrating. Even more so that it was a 3-0 victory over the Phillies in my Reds save.

Is this some kind of bug specific to the playoffs? Is there a unique playoff celebration animation or something that could have caused this?

That's because Apple and OOTP can't coordinate on a location to keep the game files - it seems to change version to version - and the file locator when you try to import (the same happens with jersey/cap/logo files) has never worked. Try moving your LEAGUE.lg folder into the base OOTP 24 folder - you'll have better luck.

That said...

We STILL can't get the transactions files for online leagues to upload/download or whatever the problem might be...

This is a necessary step, because Apple will not allow you to access files outside of the game directory. That's something we have no control over, it's entirely Apple's design and not something we can work around.
