Buehler waived

I don't know which is worse... that a healthy 4-star Walker Buehler was waived or that no other team claimed him.

I signed him as a free agent prior to 2026. He was middling, though had a nice hot streak after the all-star break. Faced his old team in the deciding game of the division series and TOTALLY TOOK A DUMP. Sigh. Lol. It’s a pretty friendly contract though. Bounce back 2027 incoming? Lol

we can look at the ratings, because it could be that the TCR took it (even more so if it was raised above 100) and turned it into Manoah, Ian Anderson or even a worse pitcher.

If the ratings are high, it could be because of the AI Evaluation settings. I always recommend that the AI evaluation for ratings be above 60, I always use 65 or 70, and I don't see those extreme cases of releasing good players, or high value prospects in rule 5.

TCR was default (100). The ratings are still a solid #2-3 starter, so I don't think that is it.

The AI eval is default, which I believe is 60 for ratings. Turning it up to 70 might help.

I also noticed that my manager wants to start Buehler in the bullpen and instead use Jake Woodford in the rotation. There is literally no amount of TCR that could make Woodford better than Buehler in a less than a year of game time, so something is off here. It is not apparent in the stats or ratings to me.

I know people who even take the AI evaluation ratings to 75 (I haven't tried it personally).

IRL the GM's would have a bigger weight in the stats players like Joey Gallo, Austin Hedges Austin Barnes wouldn't have a job. The best evaluation is what they can do going forward and if they have any quality.

If TCR is in default and their ratings remain high, you are absolutely right to think something is not working as it should.

What is his stamina rating ? In my current save he came back from TJ surgery with his stuff, movement and control basically intact, but it tanked his stamina down to 35. Altough he could still be used as a 4-5 and done starter, the AI made him a permanent reliever and he was valued as such by the AI, leading him to get waived a couple of times even though he could still be used as a rotation piece.
