I'm not sure if this is a game-related problem. For me, 24 runs pretty much the same as 23 (other than maybe some camera angles shifting strangely). And graphics options that we can change had always been limited for OOTP. Probably have to ask the Devs to take a look in the bugs forum?

Modern Woodmen Park

Boy, this one sure took me a while to finish. Modern Woodmen Park is a minor league venue located in Davenport, Iowa. It has been around since 1931. And with any stadium this old, it went through many renovations throughout the years.

The Quad Cities River Bandits added a lot of amusement park attractions around the ballpark. I can't do all of them otherwise this model will never get done! At least the most important backdrops are included: the Ferris wheel, Centennial Bridge, Mississippi River.....etc. It is one of the most scenic ballpark in the minor leagues. I hope to recreate the view both during the day and at night.

Thanks guys. Throughout the next few months, I'll continue to work through my list. Creating stadiums is my long-time passion and I love trying different things to improve mods.

There is never a shortage of stadiums around the world that interest me The next FOUR stadiums (not in any particular order) will probably be these ones:

State Mutual Stadium - Rome, Georgia, U.S
Tainan Municipal Stadium - Tainan, Taiwan
Stadio dei Pirati - Rimini, Italy
Kawasaki Stadium - Kawasaki, Japan

Besides the fact that Modern Woodmen Park adds to our collection of minor league ballparks presently used (High A level in this case), the Davenport, Iowa park has other reasons for being worthy of a rendition for OOTP.

It is listed as the fourth oldest minor league park still in use as dating back to 1931, so it has a long history in its various incarnations.

A poll in 2013 by USA Today had Modern Woodmen on top for best minor league park in the country.

Flying_Canuck did an excellent job and he really made a gem with Modern Woodmen. It has plenty of little details which can be discovered by looking around the place with various camera angles. I played a game with High A Cedar Rapids and Quad Cities using current rosters at Modern Woodmen and placed it on YouTube. I added custom sounds and created new camera angles which I changed each inning.

Here it is on YouTube so you can see for yourself what a great looking ballpark we have by Flying_Canuck:

One thing I was thinking about yesterday, as you continue to cycle through the usual leagues you work out of, would you consider adding the mlb partner independent leagues? That's one area of stadium making that has been lacking and yet I've recently found they are so much fun to play because of the challenges that are specific to those teams

Thanks for showcasing the stadium in your video! At the very beginning, there is a strange play. The right fielder went beyond the outfield wall on that homerun ball. That shouldn't happen with how the model was created. I have not seen that during my games. Was it just a one-time bug or does that happen regularly for you?

You found me out! There is actually a method to my madness. It's not always random. From time to time, I would return and continue to work on stuff in the same country or leagues, so eventually it would be fully covered. To keep things fresh, I rotate between them and sometimes do requests that are completely different.

For example, I'm almost done with Japan. Kawasaki Stadium might be the last one. Going forward, I will probably focus more on Taiwan (CPBL), Italy/Netherlands, Caribbean countries as regular projects. Meanwhile, lower level teams from US/Canada should also get some love. I haven't looked into the independent leagues, but those all qualify as lower level domestic teams.

When I started my thread several years ago, the goal was to take on the under-represented segments of the stadium world. And that hasn't changed

I had one play in the 30 or so games I've played at Modern Woodman where the RF disappeared through the fence in the RF corner and then partially reappeared while throwing the ball back in to 2b

Having played several thousand manual games with OOTP over the last few years I would say that an outfielder seeming to climb the fence in an attempt to catch a homerun is NOT a regular event but I would guess it happens in various parks at least once every one hundred games. It is strange to see the outfielder standing on top of the fence and some of the climbed fences were too high to scale (I once saw an outfielder try to scale the tall netting at silvam14's LA Coliseum), but when it happens it is always described as the outfielder "leaping" in an attempt at a catch. I really do not know if said scaling is a problem with various ballparks or if the issue is some kind of 3D action bug. You could try moving a couple of outfield fence posts in one click out in right field but since the "leaping/scaling" outfielder happens about once every one hundred games I don't know if that would fix the problem or not.

re: "I had one play in the 30 or so games I've played at Modern Woodman where the RF disappeared through the fence in the RF corner and then partially reappeared while throwing the ball back in to 2b"

The outfielder vanishing in outfield corners can happen in lots of ballparks regularly but I think I know why that is and how to fix it. I wish that ballpark models had more fence post locations in foul territory but working with such limited number of foul fence posts I make sure that the final foul ball fence post is set exactly at the location of the foul pole. One can't make much foul territory in the corners with the final post at the foul pole but it does weave the foul and fair fences together and prevents the outfielder from leaving the view. I checked Modern Woodmen and the final foul fence posts were not located at the foul poles so I suggest moving both the LF and RF final foul fence posts in to the foul pole locations.

Stadio dei Pirati

Stadio dei Pirati is a baseball stadium in Rimini, Italy. It is home of the Italian league team Rimini Pirates.

The grandstand can fit 3500 spectators and that is it for seating. There is no other structure other than your normal dugouts, walls and fences. Perhaps the empty space by the 3rd base side is reserved for expansion.

The stadium also features a pizza restaurant located along first base side. It looks like customers are able to watch the game on the patio.

Hey Canuck,

Somebody mentioned Dubai International Cricket Stadium as one to create. That would be for the new Baseball United league in Asia. Just passing it along.

Yeah, that league would be interesting to keep track of. I haven't seen much news lately. I hope it launches next year without too much issue? Would love to see more information regarding how they will set up the stadiums.

By the way, next stadium in my list would be State Mutual Stadium. It's currently in progress:

Dubai International Cricket Stadium

So I come across an article about a new international league called Baseball United that is trying to expand baseball in the Middle East and India with a new league type tournament starting in November. The article says that the games will be played in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. When I looked it up I was amazed at the design and was wondering if anyone with more experience with stadium builder might want to give it a go and attempt to make it into a baseball stadium for a download to include in a custom game I am working on. Any attempts or design ideas would be much appreciated.

This was originally posted in the wrong spit and someone told me to post it under your thread because you do amazing work. I tried but my stadium looked nothing like what the pictures do of the stadium.

Yup, I heard about that and can say that I am intrigued. The first tournament starts in November so I am sure they will start to convert the field into a baseball diamond soon.

The thing is I have several stadiums on-hand so I'd like to finish them first. Won't be able to do this one any time soon. But once I am ready to take on a new stadium and nobody has answered the call yet, I will make this the next one on my list for sure. (Later this year perhaps)
