Automatic Contract Extension?
EDIT: Believe I posted in wrong spot so reposting
Hi all! Was hoping someone with more experience can help me out. I started a sim with the A's and my goal was to win the World Series before my contract expired (4 years). Unfortunately, I lost in the ALCS b2b years to the O's who eventually won WS, while we had best record in the league both years. However, the entire run was leading up to the penultimate season of trying to win, so I made a blockbuster trade and leveraged just some of the future to acquire what I thought was a World Series at the deadline, assuming that I'd head into the offseason jobless and looking for a new team. When I got to the offseason, i received the notificationthat my contract was auto-extended with no negotiation, which I specifically didn't want or assume would happen and wanted a new team to build. I ended up quitting my job and then selecting a new team (which i thought i was just applying for). My questions: 1. Is there a way to turn off this auto-extension to be a 'free agent'? 2. Assuming question 1 is yes, are there any negotiations? 3. Lastly, when 'applying' for a job, is there a way to apply for multiple jobs and receive responses, or is it always an auto-yes and you start immediately? Thanks for any who take the time to respond |

1. No, you just quit when you don't want the job anymore
2. No, the contracts don't actually do anything. The money is just imaginary since there is nothing you can do with it and I don't think it even affects your budget (though I might be wrong about that). 3. When applying it is always an auto-yes (the only ones on the list are the ones who want to hire you). If you are unemployed you will get messages with job offers periodically. |
