Mystery Player

My game is currently in the off-season (early February 2023) following the 2022 season. All of a sudden a player appears in the free agent list who wasn't there before - Danny Slaven, all in capital letters. He wasn't one of the International Free Agents, and he wasn't on the draft list. I'm not sure where he came from lol. He has impressive credentials.
Has anyone else seen this before, where a player just shows up out of nowhere?

On his player page, any clues on his Player History tab?

Also any real stats?

It just says that he entered the league on 1/13/2023 as a free agent from an independent league. Just seems a bit odd that a player with such impressive potential shows up out of nowhere lol

Players can just appear from independent leagues if you have that turned on in league settings. I personally turn it off because I find this type of thing unrealistic.

The reason the name is in all caps is because he is on one of your shortlists. The game might have automatically added him when he entered the league.

Thank you!! That's exactly what it was. I didn't see that setting before and I have now turned it off.
