Expansion auto-protect issue

This player has 3.182 time as pro

But when you use 3 in the setting he is auto protected

You need to use 2 instead to not have him protected

Is this intentional? It's a bug?

Looking at the rules in1997:

It reads: All players in an organization were eligible to be drafted, except those with no prior major league experience who had less than three years service if signed at age 19 or older, or had less than four years of service if signed at age 18 or younger.

Your man has MLB experience so he doesn't qualify. I realize that the line you are toggling is shortened in its descriptor to just the Pro Service part as a variable, but I think this is the rule it is trying to replicate.

If it was your case he shouldn't be autoprotected in any case. When I use 3 or 2 in the setting.
Also it's not just this player, it's any player with MLB experience or not.

He's being autoprotected while having 3.182 pro service and ML experience when the setting selected is to autoprotect less than 3

Fair point. My second guess was maybe it is 3 years as of season's end - but 0.182 is about 66 days and if it is Nov 23 in your screenshot, that logic doesn't work either. Just trying to think it through because posts like this tend to sit until the community brainstorms anything it can be before a bug gets logged. i wonder if it tied to the wrong type of "time served".

Yeah, I appreciate any input but I'm fairly confident it's an error in the text or a bug

This was an issue because it happened in an online league after we voted to autoprotect players with less than 3 pro years and the setting working like this opened a lot of debate
