Import stadiums on a Mac?
I've been playing OOTPB forever, but always on a PC. Have always been able to install historical stadiums.
I have a Mac for work and just installed OOTPB 24. I've downloaded some historical stadiums like before but cannot seem to figure out how to select the files when trying to edit the park. Basically, I cannot find the path that i need to install the files. ]I am also unable to just plop the files in a desktop folder and install from there, as it won't let me select it. I'm assuming this is a mac issue. ( I am a Mac newbie ) Any help would greatly be appreciated. Im plaing dead ball ear and the modern parks just throw me off. |

Yeah, it’s a Mac/Apple issue, and it’s worse than you think. The path is different in 24 from 23. The key is that Apple now uses “containers” to isolate files. The OOTP 24 files are within one of these “containers”. You can reverse engineer the path by looking at the data tab on league settings. There is also a way to track the path through the start screen for the game under settings. Once you find the path, best to make a note of it, so you can access the next time. According to the devs, the “container” thing is a security measure by Apple to fight hackers.

I have a MacBook Pro and can get some things from OOTP 23-24 like schedules and player photos but really the best solution is probably (I think) is to just get the game on steam.

I use the color tags in Finder for this, works like a charm. I've got the ballcaps, jerseys, ballparks, schedules, etc. folders all tagged as "Blue" so I can easily get back later. It's painful the first time but not afterwards.

The way I solve this is to open the folders in OOTP from the game which get you to the mac container, where you can then drag the files from your main HD to the ootp container, it's not ideal, but it's how i'm able to do this so I can access files in-game. To do this, you need to click on "open folder" in OOTP, you can do this from the save game menu once your're in your league, but it's also available on any of the menus where you go to add files from the directories, open folder will open the directories where you can drag your downloaded files.
Some ppl use their work machine for personal stuff, too. I did that for years. Last edited by darkcloud4579; 07-10-2023 at 07:25 PM. |
