Minor league special occasion rebranding is very regional. If we can have something like the Florence Y'alls or the Rochester Garbage Plates, why can't a NYC team with, um, decades of tomato history go from the Pizza Rats one year to the NYT's the next?

2027: Staten island Imperial Guard, Red Guards


It's strange to think of it, but Star wars nights and other big culture tie-in promotions are now as much a part of baseball history as vests, high socks, or pants that go all the way down under the heel. I expect the 50th anniversary in 2027 will see even more Star wars promotions than we have had for the last few years (which is a ton, like more than one a season for every major and minor league team).


So here are the red guards from return of the jedi holding baseball bats


Note: the promotion was originally announced as the Staten Island Elite Guards, “honoring both the 50 year anniversary of Star Wars and the 100th anniversary of the Elite Guard Negro League team”, until the press release had to be changed after public uproar. Brandiose issued an apology and the team agreed to hold a separate theme night playing in replica Elite Guard uniforms and to meet with members of the community.

this is as far as I have gotten I'd still like to think of a future logo or two before doing a 200th anniversary one for 2065

and then I look forward to doing smaller projects!

Not sure yet about the years 2027-2065 for Staten Island, I would like to do a thing or two


But here is a very obvious future logo that I'm sure someone else has thought of
