Spidertack Online League

We use Slack for our league comms

Myself and another GM are Co-Commisioners so we have redundancy and ensure our sims are always run at the scheduled days.

Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday-Saturday-Sunday sim dates (offseason daily)

Notable points:
1) We have just expanded 2 teams (Montreal and Carolina) and re-aligned divisions to 4 divisions of 8 with 2 division winners and 4 WC qualifying from each league.
2) We shut off scouting discoveries and make an IAFA pool 600 players. The player demands are shut off and teams can trade IAFA Budget space (to a max of $8 mil per team) to create a more realistic July IAFA signing period. (IAFA Pool also drops 100 days before July, so like the draft there is a scouting window before you make decisions on signings/trading space).
3) Scouting settings are changed from default, here the ratings are 100% based on talent and not 65% talent and 35% stats (OSA also set to low accuracy) so in effect, scouts are ALWAYS more accurate than OSA which is now relegated to Baseball America level of accuracy where its way behind the actual reports for the most part. Also, because its based 100% on player talent any player developments or nerfs are recognized instantly once your scout is able to get a new report which causes more volatility especially with amateur players. (Random Talent Change is set to 1.000)

We are in need of a new Reds and Expos GM.

The Reds have been a revolving door of instability with about 5 guys at the helm who have had different plans from winning to rebuilding so they havent had a clear direction. The previous GM found Spidertack was "too engaging and active" for him to keep pace with so stepped down, but did manage to clear the books of most of the bad salary.

The Expos are entering year 5 in existence, after the Nostalgia of the Expansion wore off and the reality of having to build the team up from scratch kicked in the Expos previous GM got less engaged which made the situation worse for an active league where everyone is all trying to get better.

This is fantastic League with two commissioners running it, plus assistance from other owners to manage small tasks.

If you want a League that is challenging and will bring out your best inner GM, this League is for you! As long as you are very active, you will do well here.

Features streamlined rules, an International FA system where you can bid on players you want, not what is randomly given to you by the OOTP game engine, great League history, including articles, plus an actual periodic podcast!

Really you won't regret joining this League as long as you have the time and energy to stay active in it. It may actually "ruin" you to enjoying any other Leagues, it is that good.

Love this league and the people in it. Most active and engaging league I’ve been in. Both commishes are stand up guys (and very good GM’s).

New to the online league thing, but this sounds good and neat. Which team do you think is the tougher rebuild to pick up? I'd like to see if I am up to the challenge.

One question that just hit me. Do you switch versions of OOTP as soon as they come out, or do you wait until the patches and summer sale each year?

Hi sorry, Expos got filled just before I went to bed so didn't have a chance to update that here, and we try to wait until the summer sale on steam to give people a break on buying it and to let the game iron out the bugs. Rushing an unpatched new version of the game has. Lot of risk associated with it so we try to monitor how it goes in other leagues.

Also we have had a bunch of newer GM
