OOTP 23 -> 24 FaceGen Import

I just imported my European Pyramid save from 23 to 24 and I noticed a lot of the facegen files didn't import.

Can I just copy the faces.dat from my 23 saved game to 24?

Also, any other gotchas I should know about as I move versions of the game?

I've done this before but never with a save game that was so detailed, so I don't know what I don't know.

The problem is that many FGs bad ID were corrected from 23 to 24... we correct them in the universal pack but it's a long process (since the plan is to remove the junk cluttering the pack since so many years too). I think our next update will be at the all-star weekend but I'm not sure of the progress (in my case I have done 1871 to 1906 at this moment and LansdowneSt do the most modern FGs).

The only advice I can give you if you don't want to wait is to manually check all your players FG ID in your FG folder compare to the one use in the game... it's a pain in the ass to do believe me I know.

Oh wow, that sounds like a ton of work for you guys. I'm always impressed by the effort that goes into community-released products like your FG project and the historical uniform stuff. Thanks for doing all of that.

Does this only apply to historical players? If I have a bunch of fictional players who used to have faces in 23 but they didn't move over to 24, can I just move the faces.dat from the 23 save to the 24 save and then hit.... some button...? to re-import them?

Weird I have never played fictional but I don't see what would prevent the FGs to be imported... I thought the player ID was used for those fictional player.

Ask in the OOTP 24 - General Discussions sub forum I'm sure someone who play fictional will be able to help you there.
