William "Bud" Heine 1921
Perhaps the jewel of the RMY auction, here's the first-ever solo portrait of the one-game NY Giants world champion:
The Giants were finishing out the regular season when Bud came down from St. Bonaventure to meet them in Philadelphia, and he played the last five innings of the first game of a double-header on the penultimate day of the year at 2nd base. Then he was sold to Indianapolis over the winter and it was all downhill from there. A certain R.A. MacDonald (although RMY thinks the signature says "L.R. MacDonald") of the Pittsburgh Press was in town, presumably en route to cover the upcoming all-Polo Grounds World Series between the Giants and Yankees, and he snapped this picture of Heine. (Perhaps St. Bonaventure had played Duquesne that spring?) We previously only had Heine in a team picture from Charles Alexander's book John McGraw, so this is an upgrade. |

Dave Robertson 1912
From RMY, here's a nice action shot of Dave (with the 1921 Pirates) lining up a fly ball.
Nice job by Bob Dorman capturing how attentive Dave's eyes are. I'd say it's a shout-out, but as the picture is over 100 years old and Dorman has likely been Dorman-t for quite a while, that's a stretch, I'd say. |

Braggo Roth 1914
Per RMY, here's Braggo finishing out his career with the 1921 Yankees, once more a teammate of Babe Ruth, as in Boston two years before.
A search of the thread turned up pictures of Braggo in Cleveland, Red Sox and Washington unis, but nothing for his White Sox debut, his half-season as an Athletic, or this. One off the list, perhaps? |

Ray Richmond 1920
RMY put out a nice action pic of Richmond (2 games for SLB in 1920, 6 more in '21) warming up last year, now they have a portrait to match it.

Joe Benz 1911
RMY shows us the veteran Chisox twirler warming up in 1918. We only had a small, colorized head shot before.

Barry Latman 1957
You don't see a lot of him in Houston garb. This is from the Astros' publicity photo shot in Spring Training, 1966

Cubs with No Names
Here are four Cubs I got off of the internet some years back. I never wrote down their names. Can anyone identify them for me? Thanks again. bb4fun2dice

Believe the third one down is Jimmy Stewart - ears, nose, eyebrows and tooth gap all seem a match:

The 1st one seems to be Stewart too, and the 4th one seems to be a very nice pic of catcher John Boccabella. |

Jim Weaver 1985
Haven't seen many photos of Jim Weaver with the Tigers..So, I did my best to capture this image off of a game I saw on youtube.
Weaver debut game He would play in 12 games for Detroit going 1-7. He returned to the majors in 1987 going 0-4 in 7games before closing out his career in 1989 with Seattle going 4-20 in 12 games. Sorry for the side photo |

Jim Weaver 1985
I purchased the following image of Jim Weaver from Brace Photo more than 25 years ago. Although this was identified by Brace Studio as Jim Weaver, its true identity has been questioned.
