Disable potential fluctuations outside of aging
Even with TDR set to 1 and coaching and morale turned off, some players still change potential quite dramatically. I would like to see an option to turn this off completely, so players develop to their defined potential and then regress normally with age. This helps those of us trying to create a unique baseball universe where we're creating players with a specific talent levels. It hurts the player creation process if we can't be certain his potential will stay fixed, b/c he turns into something we never intended to create in the first place.
Perhaps a setting of "zero" for TDR should shut off all such potential changes that are not due to aging and/or defensive experience. Another helpful addition would be a setting which controls an individual player's peak (the age which potential is fully realized), which would yield greater control over a player's development arc. |

Turning player development off - which is the same as TCR = 0 - is not what you want?

Turning player development off will turn TCR off but also means just that, no development at all no rating increases (outside of defensive experience) and no aging. I'm seeking static potential ratings + player development, so they progress to the fixed potential ratings I set when I create the player, and then regress with age. |

I'm not really sure the game is designed to do what you want it to do.
Even if there was no TCR, that doesn't guarantee that a player will develop to their potential ratings. The development engine itself, I believe, will lower many potentials based on a player not developing their actual ratings. TCR is more meant for big, immediate changes, but the development engine will hit players with a lot of small changes (typically downward) as well. I don't have any specific knowledge of this, but that is what I've seemingly observed. |
