Quick question -- How to cut down on strike outs

It's a continuing trend, but my St. Louis Cardinals, continue to strike out at a mind-bogging trend.
Yes, the players who have high K rates whiff like crazy but players who have avoid K ratings in the 60s through 80s also are on track for a career-high in strike outs.
Can a change in hitting coach make a difference, maybe look at one more who preaches contact.
After 50 games, I have struck out 553 times -- 11.06 times per game -- ranking us 30th in terms of strike outs.
The next highest are the Marlins -- 473 through 50 games 9.46 -- a huge differential.
I am at wits end in trying to figure this out.
This is the third season in a row this has happened.
Although, last season, thanks to our pitching we actually won the World Series.
So I should not complain.
Anyway, just needed to vent.

Correct. Your team won the World Series and you're complaining about how they did it.

For what it's worth, 11.06 per game seems astronomically high

The all time record is 1,596 strikeouts in a 162 game season -- 9.8 per game.

If your pace keeps up for the full season, you will shatter that record with 1,792 strikeouts.

I don't even want to go down this rabbit hole, but if it has been like that 3 seasons in a row then something with the auto-calc and modifiers might be off. Now I will say, the only time I ever tried to manually do anything with those numbers I created huge problems (if anyone remembers that BABIP thread from last year).... So you would need someone smarter than me to help you there. But honestly, 3 straight years of record breaking strike out numbers do sound like something in the auto-calc modifiers being a little off.

Pick a season you like, lock the stats, and then turn on control of the in-game engine (that's recommended only for minors).

We have deviant stats for a single team and solutions that affect the entire league but no mention of what the entire league is doing. This is a mismatch..

Yes, the first question should be is this league wide or just your team.
