Because of your league, I wanted to show you the fictional leagues that I created.

You have a good concept for a fictional league. Is there anywhere where I can see the teams in your leagues? Don't go to any trouble to do this. I went to the OOTP Dynasty Forum to see if you had a thread on it. I was a big fan of the Continental Baseball League in the late 50s... really wish it had happened... MLB thwarted it with expansion in the early 1960s... it would have kept two teams in New York City that would have replaced the renegade New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers... but you really can't blame the Giants and the Dodgers... the fans did not support the teams... wish Brooklyn had built the Dodgers a new stadium... that might have saved them... don't know the Giants' problem that caused them to go to San Francisco. In hindsight... both of them greatly prospered when they left New York City.... though I did not like the Dodgers, I miss the Brooklyn Dodgers... with they could get an expansion team in MLB... but I know it's not gonna happen. I did not like the Dodgers because they always beat Stan the Man Musial and my St. Louis Cardinals in the late 40s, 50s and 60s. I hate to say it, but my goodness, the Dodgers were really good. I'm glad the Yankees dominated the Dodgers under Casey Stengel... however, they finally won a World Series in 1955 with Johnny Podres the hero. |

Apology to jg2977, we have strayed way beyond graphics.
Sorry, we are off-topic... but here is a link for those that are interested in the story of the Continental League... Branch Rickey was the first league president. ChromEagle, I know you know the story of the new MLB league... this link is for those that may not know the story. Let continue this in a private message, if you like. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_League Last edited by Eugene Church; 05-27-2023 at 11:08 AM. |

Jeff, just to remind you... I have added you to the LaGrange Bulls in the IPA, but you are on the reserve roster so far... hope you have a good spring and earn the second base spot... however, the Bulls already have a fine second baseman... I may force a trade to a team with a poor second baseman so you can be a starter.
However, I placed you on the Bar Harbor Acadians and you have a good shot at being the regular on that team in the South Island Secondary League. I'll keep you posted. |

I don't think I posted a Belair Beach baseball card for you in my IPA's 1916 season. I'll be getting to your first round playoff game pretty soon, so when I do I will post the 1917 card. Last edited by jg2977; 06-06-2023 at 11:09 AM. |

Jeff,
You had a tough spring training with the Bar Harbor Acadians... you batted .234 with 11 hits in 47 at bats in 23 games with 1 double, 3 RBIs and 5 runs scored... you batted in the 8th spot. Your competition Stan Lazarski, the current second baseman, had a great spring with a .511 BA in 23 games with 5 doubles, 5 triples and 3 homers... he drove in 9 runs and scored 13. The Cajuns finished 7th in the spring with an 8-15 mark... they were relegated from the Supreme League at the end of last season. You may be moved to third base if Lazarski continues to play this way. He played half a season last year and batted .333 with with 3 doubles and 2 triples in 6 games with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. |

Did you see the great Kilkenny Cats logo done by tm1861 in his wonderful thread?... he is very similar in style to hurricanekevin... both threads are outstanding.

I rebranded the Beechwood franchise to an earlier nickname, the Beechwood Blues... they were originally the Bobcats, named for the first owner Bob Catlin... not only was he a good ballplayer, he was an accomplished musician... I took "Bob", his first name and combined it with "Cat" in his last name... hence, the Bobcats.... and carrying it even a little further, Bob Catlin would sit in at the ballpark when the dixieland band, the Bobcats entertained during the game.
Iseldelyod made the snazzy cap with the trumpet. Here is the cap I made to match the jerseys for the Blues... the one I had did not show up well in the game. Use them or not... your preference. I will try them both to see which one shows up best in the game. Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-10-2023 at 12:22 PM. |

It is a good cap for sure and the wordmark on the jerseys really look good. Really like the musical B's used on the caps and the jerseys. |

txranger did the Beechwood Blues for jg2977 in his Retro thread.
I just found them in his thread. Wonderful work, Tex! Really like those fancy and dazzling B's with the musical theme to them. |
