Change Major Role
I would like to change the Major Role of a prospect from Offensive Forward to Goalscorer. However, when I try he immediately becomes unhappy and the change is listed as the reason.
My question is, will he eventually adapt to the change and become happy again, or is the unhappiness likely to stick around indefinitely? Also, will his development reflect the new Major Role once changed? For instance, can I expect to see increases favouring the attributes specific to the Goalscorer role? For context, Hornqvist's contract is expiring at the end of the season and his renewal demands are outrageous for his age (IMO) so I'm planning to replace him with a prospect currently at my farm team who has the same current ability, but better potential. |

If the role isn't one he's suited for, he'll stay unhappy as long as he's in it. It won't directly affect his development (yet - I'm looking at some ways to get players to change their style of play, and that's one possibility.)

How would I determine his suitability? A change from offensive forward to goal scorer seems like it should be ok?

Still the same in FHM9
It seems you just can’t make this change without unhappiness. I had a player in college remain unhappy even after a full year and even when he was better suited for the new role (I changed him from an Offensive Forward to a Goalscorer, and he had better shooting stats.)
Unfortunately, after a few years the new forwards (at least in the NCAA) are all either Offensive Forwards or Two-way Forwards and you cannot change them or you get the huge unhappiness penalty. |
