Harmony, harmony, harmony
I was thinking of getting back into the game. My last version purchased was 6. It was a good game at the time but I knew better was yet to come so I sat a few versions out. Steam has the game at 50% off ($20) so I was thinking maybe now is the time to get back into it.
I’m almost positive I’ll give it another go. I’m 99% of the way there let me just watch a single video first. I was watching the video when I came across the ‘harmony’ thing. Right away, I hear, ‘player conflicts’ and ‘clicks’ and ‘personality blah blah blah’ so right away I think a few things: 1st. Was the fan base (you) really and truly asking for ‘harmony’ to be added to the game? 2nd. How is ‘harmony’ not just the ‘househusbands of the rink’ or some version of a drama show? 3rd. Can ‘harmony’ be turned off? 4th. Do all online leagues use ‘harmony’? 5th. Without owning the game, reading a single thread, or watching more than one video; why do I already hate ‘harmony’? Harmony is a bizare system that does weird things leaving you tearing out your hair trying to figure out how to deal with it... until you clue in to the fact that it has absolutly no effect on the game whatsoever.

How do you it has no impact on the game. I am pretty sure Morale has an impact and Harmony is tied into that I would think.

Last season nearly everyone on the team was involved in some issue or another and the harmony was at disruptively hostile - 0%. Yet we finished the season 1st overall, had the highest point total in team history and won the cup. And this isn't the first time my team (or some AI teams) has had great sucess while being in total chaos in the lockerroom. |

It's not intended to make the team completely ineffective. That wouldn't have been realistic; plenty of successful NHL teams over the years have had serious internal divisions. But as Northernsky said, a bad harmony situation still hurts morale and thus has a negative effect on your team's performance, so it should be dealt with if possible.

Thanks everyone for the responses
I won't be buying I just like operating a team; wins, stats, trades, championships etc. IMHO, the entire endeavor is a loser from the start. And knowing that they will chase this drama wasting both resources and time, well I just can't support that. |

ha, yeah buts its good to know what makes people switch off, you can't please everyone, i personally like the idea, but feels a bit artificial, i prefer the cm/fm model where players would get unhappy and you have a choice of options to resolve things i/e talk to the player yourself, give a leave of absence, get the captain to speak to him etc etc rather then just 'intervene'. However its def not a reason to ignore the game imo.
