Schedule??

I'm trying to make an 80 game schedule and everytime I tried to generate the schedule it ends up being 74-77 game schedule instead of 80. How do I make it that the schedule is exactly 80 games? I'm a long time user of the ootp11 and it wasn't a problem in that game to do that. Just switched to ootp24 with the new laptop. Please help. Thanks!

Do you have interleague play on? That's usually the culprit in situations like this.

You may also want to check the available schedule files in the Mods > Schedules forum. You might find something which suits your needs. You can also make a request for a custom schedule file created to fit your specific parameters.

Here's some that have been created by users if you wish to find an 80 game one and manually assign it.

Tried every which way. It doesn't seem to want to create a 80 game schedule no matter what the options are.

It's a blunt approach but if you took one that was 82 games and had the divisional set-up etc. correct, you could open the schedule, find two days on the calendar that had every team playing, and wipe them... then resave it as a schedule template and use it. Best I can think of. Or request one as a separate post in that subforum as was mentioned by Le Grande Orange.

There's no pre made schedule because 80 games for a 30 team league isn't a reasonable configuration.

OOTP has never had a working schedule generator built in, but there's a 3rd party schedule generator available at https://manywords.press/other-stuff/ootp-tools/

Ran that setup with the 80 game schedule on ootp11 with expansion through the years for about 150 seasons without an issue

It was the original major_league2010 schedule file. Not sure how I got it to work it was obviously a while back. But even after several expansions I never had a problem with the schedule.

I have noticed that my 3 game series end on Saturdays and a new 3 game series starts on Sundays. This is strange.

I have OOTP 11 on my old computer so I tested this.

OOTP 11 will produce a schedule of 80 games for each team with interleague off, balanced on, and the historical 14 AL 16 NL alignment. With the modern 15 15 alignment it produces a schedule with a varying number of fewer than 80 games per team.

I'd guess with 23 80 games per team are possible by sending the Brewers back to the AL or the Astros back to the NL.

Just tested it out by moving Astros back to NL on OOTP24 and it does work. It sets up an 80 game schedule. Thanks again!!
