How do you sign a Tryout Offer (TO) player at end of camp
Fictional online league and I have several players listed as on tryout offers. Training camp is at its end and I am trying to sign one of them but am told I can't because he is under contract to a team in a minor league. Each of the TO players give the same response
It is a fictional setup with 1 pro league and 2 minor leagues. I am the GM of a pro league team and the players invited to tryouts were all under minor league team contracts. I looked in the online manual and there is no mention of tryouts, or even what the TO shortform means that I could find at all.

Normally, you can just give the tryout player a contract offer, but in this case, it's not letting you do that because your league honors the contracts of the league(s) they're in - that will prevent you from signing any players from that league, whether or not they're on a tryout. That doesn't prevent the tryout from occurring, since the tryout doesn't permanently remove the player from the other team, but you still won't be able to sign the player as you would if he were e.g. a free agent with no contract at all.

Just wondering if there is a point even doing tryouts in this case then.

In our league setup I would say there is no reason to do them.

In this case, it would be better to use tryouts on free agents who aren't signed to any team.
