I know, I've noticed that too. In one of my games, after winning MVP in 2023, he signed with the Reds at something like $25 million a season.

I agree it’s not realistic…but there could be a couple of factors contributing to this. 1. What AI evaluation settings are you using? 2. Did his ratings decline in any way?

I forget the ratio but it's the same that you suggested in the thread that popped up here around the time the game launched, and as far as I can see, he's still listed as an 80 overall player.

OK...well those are all of the settings I am comfortable delving into...it could be a financial issue, and there have been some which are hopefully going to be fixed in the latest patch or the next one coming up. Maybe run another test once the game is patched to see if this is still happening.

Has there been any mention of tweaking how the game handles and/or creates two way players? I’m debating whether to jump on to 24 and am so far waiting to see if this upcoming patch fixes the financials, trades, and two way players.

I have a 13 hour flight coming up so I’m hoping against hope that it gets fixed so I can enjoy a new distraction.

For now, I would just turn the function off. I haven't heard anything regarding this, so honestly I just don't know. The only reason for this function (at least IMO) is because of one player. I know some players in the low minors might be a reason for this also, but if you don't feel the game is handling it well, I'd just turn it off for now until you hear something more definitive.

We pretty significantly reduced the amount of two-way players the game generates in the next patch (current private beta patch).

Surely financials are getting a rework as well?
Another user suggested using $60 mil as the baselines for the national & local TV contracts. That's a start but they definitely need adjustment.

Previous page, Lukas first mentioned tweaks to financials in the private patch, then said the two way players were being tweaked as well.

If you look “under the hood” Ohtani’s “greed” and “playing for a winner” ratings are very low.

I’d suggest bumping those both WAY up to 180-200 to see if he still signs a smaller contract and with a non-contender like Oakland.

It seems like so many things slipped through this release. Did no one play a long term save during Beta?

Sure, a lot of things can be fixed with tinkering.
But at some point, many users just want the game to work ‘out of the box’

At some point you want to be able to play the game more than you want to tinker to ensure your league can make it more than half a decade.

Some serious changes need to happen with the beta program, either bring in a few professional QA people or redo the program and ‘assign’ people to test various aspects of the game.

Fuzzy high DPI displays, crashes, off-season trading, financials being out of control after a few seasons.
All of this should have been caught before release.

I've beta tested the last 2 years. I can tell you a lot of things get discussed on the beta forums where we will ask if this and that is working "correctly" so that we can know if it's a bug and needs to be addressed as such and no one from Ootp dev ever answers

Then the system needs to be redone or they need to invest some of their development budget into a professional QA team.

But I won't get my hopes up. They will continue to cry poverty and that they are a tiny studio when that is no longer true with the PT revenue stream.

I have pretty much lost faith in this series making any significant strides.
I just hang around here in the hopes that a future version might do that.
I still enjoy the series, I just get frustrated at the glacial pace of improvements.

Then even more frustrated that often times you cannot even really get a long term save going until June.
It seems like forum users and Reddit and Discord find most of the issues after launch and this happens pretty much every version.

They do in fact need a revamp. With the exception of Lukas, there is little feedback on questions. If us testers know something is a bug... they do a better job with the bug tracker. But most questions themselves, seem to go unanswered
