Much frustration

Experiences so far:
- Redundant coaches - each coach is listed 4-5 times
- Redundant players - same although when I reinstalled the app this seems to be resolved
- Ghost players not functioning - couldn't get past June 6, 2023 as DSL teams were not full; no amount of toggling the ghost players button or going to the DSL league and manually "filling all teams" would work. I then tried deleting the league (didn't work); then tried deleting all games for 2 days to in theory allow the ghost rosters to populate (didn't work)
- Performance - I'm running an 1 yr old Lenovo with 8 cores,16 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD. Auto-simming a month takes the better part of an hour. Have read docs and am no longer saving game video, box scores, etc; reduced stats being saved, pretty much everything I can think of

I am not an expert with OOTP - I have maybe 200 hours with OOTP23, but I'm also not new to the platform. As is, the game is almost unplayable. Also, I'm on the latest patch

A lot of what you're describing sounds like it may have come from a broken installation. This is stuff that definitely doesn't happen on a normal clean install.

So the first step would be to verify your installation and let the game fix any broken files.

To do that, go to the start screen, then to 'settings' > 'troubleshooting' > and then hit the button that says 'force game data re-installation'. Or if you're on Steam, right click on OOTP 24 in the Steam client, then go to > properties > local files > verify integrity of game files.

That should fix any corrupted files and give you a fresh install. Let us know if things look better when you start a new game after that.

I followed your instructions and started a new game. The players are deduped but there are still redundant coaches (2 instead of 5). An irrelevant quirk that might be diagnostic is that most of the HOF candidates had a dupe.

Performance is infinitely better - can run a month sim now in a few minutes.
