Has it officially been postponed or is it just in a delay.

It's coming. We should have a public beta early next week if all goes well.

It's not postponed or delayed, just there was a lot of stuff to get to in it and we've also had some other things going on as well

The other things going on - i.e. Perfect Team (or as I like to call it Online Baseball Gambling EA sports mode) need to stop. I buy the game for the base game. I refuse to participate in Perfect Team. You have posted 3 minor patches on Steam for the base game and no less than 15 micro transaction packages for Perfect Team in the same amount of time.

If it doesn't stop, I'm not going to come back as a customer. It's true that you may not miss my $39 each year, but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in my frustration with the direction OOTP is heading.

So far, in real life for the 2023 season through April 30th:

MLB = 13 postponements out of 438 game events (3.0%, or about 1 in 34 games)

CPBL = 2 postponements out of 51 game events (3.9%, or about 1 in 26 games)
KBO = 10 postponements out of 130 game events (7.7%, or 1 in 13 games)
N-P-B = 11 postponements out of 151 game events (7.3%, or about 1 in 14 games)

INT = 30 postponements out of 289 game events (10.4%, or about 1 in 10 games)
PCL = 8 postponements out of 141 game events (5.7%, or about 1 in 18 games)
EAS = 14 postponements out of 133 game events (10.5%, or about 1 in 10 games)
SOU = 6 postponements out of 90 game events (6.7%, or 1 in 15 games)
TEX = 4 postponements out of 108 game events (3.7%, or 1 in 27 games)
MID = 9 postponements out of 132 game events (6.8%, or about 1 in 15 games)
NWL = 8 postponements out of 66 game events (12.1%, or about 1 in 9 games)
SAL = 23 postponements out of 138 game events (16.7%, or 1 in 6 games)
CAL = 1 postponements out of 85 game events (1.2%, or 1 in 85 games)
CAR = 15 postponements out of 136 game events (11.0%, or about 1 in 9 games)
FSL = 3 postponements out of 108 game events (2.8%, or 1 in 36 games)

How do these rates compare to what people are seeing in their leagues for the first month or so of their seasons?

Don't know and don't care.

All I know is the rain factor in OOTP this version is screwed up, if you're basing it on ALL THEIR PRIOR VERSIONS which is the only metric that matters.

FIX IT.

I just wish they'd spin that crap off in to its own stand-alone product. Don't even want their Pokemon game on my screen at startup.

The metric which matters is whether it is recreating real life or not.

Also, you've offered no data to support your claim that it's significantly worse in 24 versus 23. Having solid data to show would be of benefit to everyone and would quantify the degree of the problem.

Evidence is king.

If we were solely concerned with recreating real life for this *GAME*, we wouldn't have one pitch mode. You're losing the fun factor of the *GAME* with your weather reports, regardless of their real life accuracy.

The fact there is a thread about it AND the developers have acknowledged they're getting complaints about the rain frequency/duration is all the evidence needed for this particular argument - it's messing up the fun of the GAME.

While I share your preferences, I acknowledge that the developers have the right to pursue whatever business model they wish. That being said, your factual observation is accurate. At this point, I believe they are so far down this road that the path back to the original route is lost, and returning would require blazing a new trail with only a vague sense of direction: I am speaking about the effects of resource allocation on staffing, institutional knowledge, expertise, retained and ongoing familiarity with engine coding.

After buying the last ten versions, I just cannot stomach any longer implicitly assenting either to the insulting state of the product upon release participate or to the Kipling-esque charade of corporate commitment to franchise mode. As to the former, the blank-check others grant to software makers based on the true issues that do exist for developers is decoupled from the actual allowances justified. In the case of the latter objection, the continued faith in and slavish eagerness to embrace PR at the expense of recognizing the pattern of actual company behavior is like watching someone in an abusive relationship; it is the actions which truly reflect company priorities and regard for customer subsets. For example, I myself have wondered if people are unaware of the balance of Steam updates or if they just do not want to acknowledge what is right in front of their eyes.

Bold of you to assume that you know what is fun for all.
