Newbie question

I've been playing OOTP for years but just started with Perfect Team.

I just picked up a Snapshot Lee Lacy card in a pack. He's a nice defensive replacement/pinch runner but as an 82 overall, he's not going to make any line-up I can think of -- he won't make an all-Gold tournament team and he's definitely not going to make my main roster. He's also not part of any collector missions. But when I look at his last 10 sold, it's at over 1500 PP. Why? Are people betting that he'll part of a future collector mission or is there something else I'm missing?

Probably people are betting on the fact that he will be a part of missions in the future, and by cheap now and hold instead of "overpaying" in the future. The card also probably plays well in some types of tourney's. Especially capped ones.

They're not exact valuations of performance. And Lacy is a nice defensive sub for high end tournament teams. There are worse Gold corner OF's, but more of the gold guys are better as you say
