I wasn't gonna try it with two teams anymore (I didn't try much at all the last two versions, 23 esp.), but, ugh, the itch.

Fine, I started up a second team now, with the goal being to using only Metsies with Metsie cards, at least unless there's some good Met out there that doesn't have a Mets card. I got some OCD, but it's of the flexible nature.

Luckily, the bonus packs for returning players have not yet expired, so I was dumb/lucky enough to pack a Topps Dream Bracket Nolan Arenado that somebody was all too happy to immediately take off my paws. 50k (after tax) for a vertical card. That should buy some Metsies!

I sold almost all silver+ cards I got for over 62k total (and more stuff that has not sold yet), except for some lives that are basically quicksell value. Just waiting to get into the entry pool now, so I can actually see the missions tab and start grabbing some Metsies.

Not bad for twiddling around for an hour while watching a Gnats-Rockies game. Pitching and catchers are sorta scarce for Metsies.

Yellow = non-Mets card Mets
Red = non-Mets roster fillers

Been adding a few cards here and there, including pre-1958 Dodgers and Giants, the Mets' NL precursors. Catcher is a really weak position if you try to make an all-Mets team (past and present) and don't want to go out of your way to add Travis d'Arnaud to the team. A bit miffed how Gary Carter is only represented with a card that has him down to his very last leg.

Anyway. Burleigh Grimes (Dodgers, old favorite of mine) and Shanty Hogan (Giants) are the only players on the roster that never played for the Mets. Clem Labine (Dodgers), Jesse Orosco (Brewers), Amos Otis (Royals) and Mark Canha (A's) are represented as members of other teams, but all play(ed) for the Metsies.

And yes, that 98 Conie looks very juicy, but I'd hate to fork over 10k for a handful of random live silvers.

Have since packed a Brett Baty (replacing Vientos) and did the first Tigers live reward for Tigers Justin Verlander, who may yet end up throwing a pitch for the Mets one day, replacing Ron Darling, who could also do with a better card.

Btw, that silver Mickey Lolich? I didn't even do the mission. I figured I'd put in a 500 PP buy offer and somebody actually took that.

This team finished 60-102 in Iron, notching relegation. I am not quite sure where it went wrong this badly, but they didn't come close to 600 runs scored, worst in the league. The pitching was decent enough (not great though).

Back to the old drawing board.
