Strange sudden retirement

Here's a weird one I had. Pete Alonso was injured in an offseason charity softball game, but the text of the message said he suffered a sprained ankle and would be back before spring training. I checked his player profile to see how long he'd be out, however, and it listed him as "RETIRED." The message didn't say anything about it being a career-ending injury.

So I switched to "Commissioner Mode" and unretired him, thinking he'd just re-up with the Mets, but he ended up signing with the Rockies. (I'm managing another team, so it's not a detriment to my franchise. I just thought it was weird.)

I guess my question would be, is there a function in Commissioner Mode to unretire a player and put him back on the correct team with the contract information reinstated?

Yes. The unretire, did what it as supposed to do but you left him in the FA Pool.

Go back to Commish mode, go to his Player Editor tab and about halfway down the lefthand side will be a chance to assign him to a team. First select MLB and then the option beneath it lets you choose the team to assign him to.
