The incredible value of PT Plus (A PP Breakdown)
I've seen people going back and forth about this, but I haven't noticed a breakdown. It really is an incredible value. Funny enough, for the last two years I've been recommending a monthly model for PT. I was always blown away by the fact they didn't have one (every other sports collecting/card game basically does).
But this is even better than I expected. For $7: 29 standard packs (29,000 PP) 5 silver packs (10,000 PP) 1 gold pack (3,000 PP) 1 historical pack (10,000 PP) 1 diamond pack (15,000 PP) 5,000+ PP per week from accomplishment bonus (20,000+ PP for month) That's 87,000 PP worth if you login all 30 days. PLUS you get the tourney slots, which should average an extra place every 8 tries - so 3-4 extra places in PD, and 5-10 extra places in traditional (? depends how frequently you're entering). That has to be at least 50,000 PP per month, possibly closer to 75-100K for a lot of players. Conclusion: for $7 you're getting between approx. 125,000 PP and 175,000 PP in value. And then there's one more bonus, it says, no idea what that is. The only downside I see: as an actual F2P player (nothing to do with money, it just takes away the fun/challenge for me), this puts me at a significant disadvantage compared to previous years in having an elite team, since way more players will pay the $7 for those massive rewards. Thankfully, I'm only playing casually this year! So, yes, this review is from a player who will never pay for PT Plus - but I would like to commend OOTP developers on a great addition overall. |

And even if you use the average values of the cards
Std Pack - about 600 PP x 29 = 17,400
Silver Pack - about 900 PP x 5 = 4,500 Gold Pack - about 2200 PP 2,200 Historical Pack - about 4000 PP 4,000 Diamond pack - about 6500 PP 6,500 Total 34,600 PP from the extra login packs. |

![]() That's totally inaccurate, lol. A player did the numbers last year, and particularly before the first update, all packs give back slightly more than their cost. Even after that, for a good while the packs have at least 80-90% return value. And regardless, if you were going to buy PP and pull packs (or use your PP to pull packs), then the PP value is exactly correct. And as the best F2P player in PT23, I used massive amounts of PP on packs (millions and millions). |

Is it?
Those are my numbers. I must be an unlucky pack opener.
Even now, with some live silvers trading for well over 1000 PP, I don't think silver packs are a good deal because there are enough cheap live silvers to kill the 1000 PP increment. Gold packs are worse, because of the preponderance of live golds you get; very few of them ever trade regularly for 2000. There are times when historicals and diamonds are worth the investment, but that's usually when new missions are released that require historical golds and diamonds. Also, if you bought thousands and thousands of packs, how on earth did you recover anything more than 5 for irons and 25 for bronzes? It must have taken you many hours to churn them otherwise. |

Yes, I by far had the greatest F2P team in the game. No, I didn't win PL, that's just a bit of bad luck. Made the playoffs in PL twice. Could you point me to the F2P team that won Perfect League? I was under the impression none did. Last edited by PunishedF2P; 04-09-2023 at 12:32 PM. |

But because of the live updates, packs were like a 200% return for me. Something like that until the MLB season ended. Never sell irons or bronze cards until they turn silver or gold or diamond - or the live updates are over - or you are out of room for cards (then go through and quicksell the players that are injured/performing badly) |

I agree. I was a week late or so in buying the game this year and didn't buy the subscription for another few days and I already don't regret it. I think it's a really fantastic subscription model and I'm always a fan of anything that isn't set to auto renew. I am very pleasantly surprised by the value of the monthly subscription.

I was ecstatic to make PeL with a F2P team early in the cycle last year, but I wasn't privy to any info or advantages that other F2P players weren't utilizing as well. Usually when we think we've done something novel, it just means we're the first to talk about it.

![]() I only mentioned it in the very first post (being one of the best F2P teams) to say that you can open lots of packs and still be a great F2P team (that was the context, that I open tons of packs and am still competitive) ![]() |

How do you know this team is F2P, btw? That's the problem for me - I just assumed this team was P2P, lol (people probably assume that about my team when they see it, also). |

You can tell by the BFF at the end. BFF is an all D2P group on the discord. They’re generally free to play wizards… and serious ballers.
