So I've been trying to start a 1985 save today & ran into a problem no matter what options I selected for generating Potential ratings. High quality players that are prospects in 1985, some now in the MLB HoF IRL have terrible Potential ratings (100% scouting accuracy), like not arguable numbers either, mathematically impossible without an error/bug in the process.

Some major offenders that I noticed right off the bat if you'd like to recreate this are Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, & David Cone. The last one isn't bad POT (actually it's insanely high), but rather it made him a closer with no stamina instead of high quality career starter. I'm sure this must be seen across various eras too if you look closely at prospects.

This was in the beta, by the way.

I hope this helps because no chance historic saves can begin until this issue is identified & patched. Fingers crossed for a simple mistake leading to this.

True, but he looks fine in the db, and I can see no reason why he'd show up like that, so I think it's someone else.

So I ran a 1980 replay again and found the same situation of some random player showing up with tremendous single year stat records in hitting. This time is Luis Figueroa, figuer001lui. Also, he's listed as being born in 2002.

Is this something related to creating historic seasons? Every time I do, there's one player holding all these offensive records. And they're always the same records and the same values. They're also usually coming with a 2002 b-day. Every time I create a historic league, this is happening. The only difference is the player.

Then I found this guy ... garcia001mic also born in 2002 yet playing in 1980. I looked him up, his real birthday was April 2, 1983 (Nomar's brother) so he shouldn't be in the 1980db anyhow.

Changing historic settings is behaving strangely.

Set --> - Historical year 1922.
Select --> Import Settings for 1922,
Response --> do you want to set the league historic year to 1926?

I fixed the Garciaparra issue.

This is due to the db merger, as discussed earlier in the thread.

Some of the records could get smushed together and it creates guys who get the wrong dob because their careers extend too long, since they have two player's records who may have played decades apart.

How that leads to the single-season stat thing, I do not know. Likely some other associated bug there. For now the thing is getting as many of these guys as possible correct and separated in the db.

I think he's fixed, but didn't make it into today's patch. He should be in the next one.

I setup a season starting in 1935. I tried this with 23, and noticed a good handful of incorrect minor league affiliations which still exist in 24. Today, however, I looked at the free agent pool and found this. It either represents a bunch of desperate pensioners or, since many are already dead by 1935, a list of Presidential candidates.

Update: I noticed that about half of all players on the 25 man rosters have no salary. Once Spring Training is over they all receive the league minimum. I tried a new download and re-installing, but nothing changed. The team financials all get messed up, of course. This makes any sort of historical replay impossible.

Every time I try to start a new historical game in 1990 the game excludes the minor leagues upon creation (yes I ticked all the tick boxes for AAA - Low A). This is the only year this has been an issue and I reproduced it multiple times.

In case it's related to the error I also checked the box to force complete rosters for the minors.

When you play in historical mode, in MLB > League History>Season and Career records page, you can see the single season record (from Games record to Doubles record) are all wrong, there is a player name Alexis Marte is 20 years old (my save and every historical game with minor league) and create all these record in 1895(he played 482 game and hit 583 hits, which is totally insane), I think maybe in the database, 23 player's multiple season stat have been merged into one, and link to some modern player:

In the last post you can see that the player Alexis Marte has 4 years of major service but has only played in A and AA. As I wrote several days ago in the historic DB there are a lot of players who do not have the correct length of service or are taking this data from somewhere else that should not.
