OOTP 24 public beta patch (version 24.3.52) available! (Updated April 5, 2023)

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 24 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore or Epic version!

Hi everybody!

We have fixed a few more things, so here is a new public beta, version 24.3.52. If there are no issues, it will be released officially tomorrow.

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, however both clients and the commish need to update to benefit from the online league fixes.

Fixed crash of IFA screen if no head scout was employed

Fixed some GPU memory leaks which may have caused crashes in 3D
Fixed Live Start issues releasing players. Enabled KBO Live Start
Fixed a crash bug when loading construction kit parks
Fixed player service time pct for two way players
Fixed IAFA pool spending cap if exceeded limit in previous year by trading for pool
Fixed replay showing 255 runs scored
Fixed when intro music plays in-game
Fixed long-term contract display on some players
PT: Fixed missing notification
Updated manual
Several small bug fixes

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 24 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 24
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp24betapt
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

I know changelists used to include something along the lines of the opening day roster set was updated and a re-start is needed to use them. I didn't see that but I have seen comments in the bug forum that updates have been made in the DB and will appear in the next update. Just want to make sure all patches include DB updates and it is just not listed in the changelist.

All patches do include db updates too.

The OD rosters update is not finished yet though (though there are some small changes here), we're still working through that. One bigger db change is that the top 50ish draft eligible players have been tweaked and in some cases, fully re-rated. We'll keep working deeper on the list in the next few updates as well.

Yes, that is correct. We are always tweaking and adjusting the rosters and ratings and fixing issues.

The case of many players with major league service time without having debuted (In RL and Simulation) in the historical leagues was corrected with this public beta patch?

Because in the change list it only mentions two-way players.

Curious if you still are looking at possible value/trading issues? Or come to your own conclusions on this? I only ask because it's not mentioned explicitly, fully aware it's complicated issue. Again, appreciate the rate you're chasing everything.

Can you add a slider or drop-down for controlling the volume of trades OFFERS from AI to human during the dynamic deadline? I am only getting 1 or 2 at most per period. Would love to have a slider to make it something crazy like 8 offers.

It happens on every other pitch in pitch-by-pitch mode, and on ball fours and swings and misses in single pitch mode. Not every time... but often. Should I log this as a bug? There is a video capture of it in the link, and the code is provided below...

We've posted a new update, which you can download in the original post. This updates the roster set and also fixes a crash of the IFA screen if no head scout was employed.

Please test this out and let us know if you run into any issues.

If all looks good, we'll release this officially sometime tomorrow.

I can never tell which patch is current because I see in the date it's "Today". Of course that's when someone last commented. Anyway to not allow comments on your patch announcements to avoid confusion?

We might be able to do that, though it's good to get feedback in the comments too in case of any issues.
