Just Curious - Why Do We Have This?

I'm curious as to why every year when a new version comes out, there's a separate thread for Historical & Fictional Dynasty Reports?

I plan on starting a dynasty in 1950, and I haven't purchased OOTP24 yet. Appears I have to put mine in the OOTP23 thread.

My point is, I am currently doing a Career story in Football Manager, and if you look at their site, there's two choices. FM Career Updates, and FM Stories. Now you can put in the title which version your using, but no one really cares. It's all about the story! One guy is using the really old Championship Manager version, that preceded FM. It's just nice to have everything in one place.

And I don't have a problem breaking up historical/fiction, and then modern. But just have it in one place. Eventually, for those of us who continue to play the older version for a while, eventually those stories could go unnoticed. At least that's my take. Not the end of the world by any means, just puzzled as to why it's set up this way? I understand that the "Dynasty Reports get carried over, which is fine, just not understanding the historical, fictional piece?

If its a dynasty (the goal is to win "all the time") people tend to post to the dynasties forum. The version of the game doesn't matter. The forum in 24 is the same one as was in 23. They moved it.

If the game isn't a dynasty but its fictional people tend to post to the dynasty forum. Not the 23 fictional forum was very low traffic.

If the game isn't a dynasty and is historical people tend to post to the historical forum (now the fictional/historical forum in 24). The version of OOTP doesn't matter.

The topic police aren't around and probably don't want to get involved at this point due to the appearance that by creating fictional/historical they're trying to force people to post in forums different from the ones where they've been posting.

On a board people are going to do what they want and its the job of the board management to accommodate that. If management tries heavy handed enforcement of what they want the people leave.
