I am working on doing walk-ups for historic players. Im starting in 1985 and I am actually using Animaker for my voice because you can add pauses and even taking breaths and then like Bobble I use Audacity to record it and adjust it, add echo and even tame it down a bit.
My first team is of course the 1985 Twins Dave Engle Gary Gaetti Greg Gagne Kent Hrbek Kirby Puckett Mark Davidson Mark Salas Mickey Hatcher Ron Washington Roy Smalley Steve Lomberdozzi Tim Teufel Tom Brunansky |

Thanks for adding these. I'm surprised that walk-ups have not been popular.

I found another text to speech program that makes things easier by allowing you to save files in OGG format (WAV, MP3 and more available).

Here are walk up names for the 2021 Pittsburgh Pirates. Includes Indianapolis and Altoona plus any others on the 40 man roster. I hope the pronunciations are correct. My high school Spanish is a little rusty.

As horn works differently and overrides the default horn sound, if the stadium folder has horn sounds, they should allow for player walkups to be the same way.

That and we really need our own forum section because we are not in game text or PbP!

Does it work when a pitcher comes into the game to relief pitch? That's all I want to know.

Here are a couple of videos on how to use Balabolka to create walkups using a player's name. Use this with bobble's info for adding echo and reverb. YooToob has more videos.

If anyone wanders in and wants to try this, doesn't look the the Ryan voice is available anymore on naturalreaders.com (I hope he's OK). I'd prolly go with Davis(US). He sounds very stadium announcer-ish.
Also, if you wanted to do walk-up music, it's a similar process -- play the clip on the computer (from Itunes, whatever), let Audacity capture it within the computer, save as a player's_name.ogg.

Here's some tips.
You can use online text to speech programs or download a program which can use various voices for creating your own player names. When creating player name files you often have to spell names phonetically or use a different vowel to get the proper sound. Sometimes spaces work. Sometimes adding an extra H will change the sound. Sometimes you don't know the correct pronunciation of a name. Team websites may have an audio file or phonetic text. Sometimes you get multiple pronunciations. I used YouTube to find how to pronounce Anthony Alford (former Pirate, current KBO). I got "al ford" and "all ford" from different MLB telecasts. You can change the text to speech voices depending on your version of Windows. https://www.google.com/search?client...+speech+voices |
