crash on starting

hello, first love the game, I played it for many years .this the first time that it crashes before it even loads instead this message put OOTP found load on crash first file and reinstall game I have done this for 10 tries please help

Hey lordofmontbello,

The game definitely shouldn't be crashing before loading to the main menu. Did you purchase the game through steam or directly from us? The crash on startup error which I believe is what you're seeing usually indicates that the game isn't being given permission to write files to the place of installation or to where the custom data is supposed to go (your saved games). Did you happen to install the game onto a secondary hard drive by any chance?

One of the things we can do right now to see if it helps us get past that error is to delete the appdata for the game. This is what stores where files are supposed to go and helps manage permissions. If those are invalid or not a good spot clearing those files can help us reset the location to hopefully someplace where that will work.

To clear those appdata files we need to go to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 24\config
If you don't see the AppData folder under YourUsername it is hidden by default. You can show hidden folders to be able to access that. Alternatively, you can type %AppData% into the address bar and hit enter and that should take you right to that appdata folder.
Once you're in the config folder I recommend deleting every file in there. They will be recreated when the game is launched once more.

Let's start there and see if that helps get you past that issue.
