I was wondering what veteran users of 3D cameras thoughts are on the best camera angles?

I have been trying different ones out. For years I just went with the default ones. However, this year I am trying the different ones, so many to choose from. Haven't found the right mix. I figured veteran users would have the ideal settings from their experiences.
The 3 views that seem important are:

Initial camera view:

Pitch view:

Action camera view:

I usually delete all the default camera angles and create my own, its very simple to do. Usually a nice over view of the field, either a behind the plate or from CF for pitching camera, and then another wide view of the field for the action cam.

I have also been looking at different camera angles, like the close ups for seeing historical uniforms really a nice touch. Is there a way when using dynamic camera option, any way to select what camera (s) you want to see? Thanks for any info.

you would think the devs would have created these up close views for us but nope. You have to go to the mods forum and download some custom stadiums where users have created their own views and then import the views to other stadiums. It's doable but not clear cut.

When I attend a minor league game I like to sit 15-25 rows up behind home plate (usually just behind some scouts). In OOTP I try to get the same angle so I use wide camera and I might adjust it a little. Sometimes I do follow the ball and sometimes I don’t.

I mostly play historical games using the historical 3D ballparks, and the Overview camera is my preferred choice and the default camera for virtually all of those ballparks. Some require the Wide view to see all of the field and outfield signs and details. I prefer a traditional baseball sim view where I can see all of the action from a full-field overview with no dynamic camera behavior or close-ups.

I take the wide camera view and adjust it to my own liking, then I save that view with a unique name and incorporate it to all the stadiums that I use. Simple!

I'm a minimalist: HP action only, no ball following.

I use only the wide camera angle, adjusted to be a little closer to the plate. The first thing I turn off is all the dynamic cameras and ball tracking. The jerkiness of the camera moving and cutting to other cameras looks terrible to me.

wide-low before and after pitch, batters-box/HP for the pitch. Dynamic cameras and follow ball turned off.

Initial camera view: Pre pitch (I can see the whole defense)

Pitch view: Catcher cam (Custom camera addition to my game. Straight behind C, Close enough I can see his whole number, high enough to see the full delivery from the P. Also allows a nice close look at the uniforms)

Action camera view: HP Action (with autozoom, follow ball, etc. enabled )

I've been using

Initial Camera: HP Action
Pitch Camera: CF Close
Action Camera: HP Action

I have Dynamic Action Cameras, Follow Ball, and Dynamic Zoom on.

Camera Movement Delay 0.25s
Camera Transition Time 1.50s

Even with Camera Move Speed at max(50), and Zoom Factor pretty far out(8 atm), there are some animations that are just not tracked well. Mainly some deep outfield hits, with multiple camera cutting as the fielders set up long relays. The way the camera zooms doesn't always make sense, it seems to have it's own settings from some angles that the Zoom Factor doesn't adjust well enough. The camera will also occasionally pan to some irrelevant area for reasons I'm not sure of.

Turning Dynamic Zoom off fixes some of this, keeping everything in view, but it's not as great for presentation on most fielding plays, and seeing the new addition of jersey numbers and names.

Customizing cameras helps, but I haven't really bothered with it much yet.

Initial Camera: I have a slightly modified angle of the default view
Pitch Camera: I use a behind the catcher view when batting and a behind the pitcher view when pitching. I REALLY wish the game would support handling this automatically, but for now it is a few mouse clicks. I have submitted this suggestion before, but maybe others don't think it is a good idea. Anyway, I've posted pictures of the different views.
Action Camera: I have a view from the first base side that someone posted last year that I really like. Apologies, I can't remember who it was.

I also only play historical leagues and use the old time ballparks. In most of them I like the wide or low-wide view. In a few like Charlie Hough, I prefer the overview angle.

What I never use is having the camera ang change during a play, as if I were watching on tv. Tge effect in the game makes me dizzy. Which angle I go with, I use it for all three moments- the pitch, the ball or runner, the outcome.
