Financials Question
Okay, the first image below is my team financials from OOTP 23. The image below that is from OOTP 24. Why is there such a discrepancy in "Money for Free Agents" and "Money for Extensions"? Based on my financial system, OOTP 24 is out to lunch. Is it recording the financial system differently now in OOTP 24? I can work around the numbers easy enough but it was nice to just have a quick look to know what I had. Any thoughts?

There were changes in how those numbers came about, but I would be surprised at that much change. If you can post a bug report and send in the league files (https://support.ootpdevelopments.com...p-developments) that would be appreciated

Thanks Matt,
I uploaded the file (CBL 1931 Start) but I can't seem to get a support ticket without joining a bunch Zoho stuff, which I tried to do but keep getting the runaround and no access allowed messages. The file name I uploaded is in brackets. I trust you'll take over from here. Cheers! |

We'll have the thread in the bug reports forum here, that's more than fine. Thanks!

If you can, could you upload the OOTP 23 file, for reference? Also, where in your season did you import the game?
I think the issue is a change in how we are treating the calculations around the cash for teams. We have changed some pieces and had to move some financial items around, but it's possible some part did not import properly. |

Hi Matt, I'll upload 23 right away and let you know when I do. I was at about Game 45 of a 130 game season. I'm at Game 63 now and still an issue. I'm concerned the AI teams wills start using the money, as they all have the extra as well.

Okay Matt, I've uploaded the OOTP 23 file. It's titled "CBL1931Restart-2.lg.zip". Looking forward to a solution here. Thanks for doing this Matt. Cheers!

Thanks, I'll have a look through. It seems like something on the import is not updating a financial figure properly - we adjusted some financials around, but it seems like somehow the cash max was not applied to some of the figures. This seems to impact the teams which run a really high balance which the owner scales back.
Any fix would likely require the re-import of the league. We'll have another look through to make sure the rest of the figures are correct, and should have a fix for this soon. It will not be in the current patch due out today, unfortunately. For the moment, the issue should resolve at the end of the season for next year's budget. Or if you wish to step in earlier, you could go into commissioner mode, on the front office page for teams there is an "Edit Finances" button, and you can simply apply a cash amount to balance out their Starting Balance line from the accounting tab. |

Would I have to apply a negative number for the cash amount? Or is there a place where I can let the owner take the profits? It appears to me that this is what happened - my owner didn't take all of the profits like he always does. This appears to be the case with all 28 teams. Maybe I'm wrong...

Will this affect me though when the next patch comes out? Also, if I finish off my season, I'm worried teams will be spending money they shouldn't have signing players, renewing contracts etc. I'm thinking I should maybe rest this league until the patch comes out. Thoughts?
Also, I just tried the negative number and it only affects the "money for free agents", not the "money for extensions", which I thought would go step-in-step with the free agent money? Last edited by tonnage; 03-26-2023 at 02:25 PM. |

When the season finishes, owner budgets should adjust properly to the cash max and owner personalities. The change in extension available money is more likely due to changes in projected budgets, projected revenues, projected salaries, etc... |

We are having a similar issue in our online league. We just entered the offseason (day after WS), and financials aren't making any sense. Basically not allowing anybody to use cash they had accrued, you can only offer extensions up to space available in your budget. For example, I have a $192m budget, with $191.5m in salaries/arb/etc. It shows I have $58m in cash available, but only lets me offer up to the $500k in budget space in contracts.
Would that be fixed by the changes you are talking about making Matt? And any eta on how soon the patch with that would come out? |

So if I re-imported the game today, would my problem be solved? Or do I wait until the next patch?

Okay, I'll wait for the next patch and re-import. I'll only have to replay about 15 games to get back to where I am now, so that's not too bad. Please let me know if the fix will be in the next patch for sure. Thanks Matt. Now, off to start my Blue Jays season! Cheers! |

Hi Matt, sorry, stepped away for a bit. Here are few screens showing what I mentioned. Shows all the cash available, but only being able to spend up to the budgeted amount. In the past, you could use all that cash for contracts above the budget, so really messes with offseason plans.

If I go into the trade screen, it will allow me to trade all the cash. That takes me from having $535k available, to $0. Doesn't seem to make any sense.
