Black Screen after 1st play 2D Classic and Classic Webcast

Just purchased game. Tried out Classic Webcast. After the first play the game screen turned black and I could not figure out a way to continue. Game closed out, but I don't know what I did to get it to do that.

Tried 2D Classic. Exact same result. This time I had to restart computer to get rid of black game screen.

Seems to work fine in 3D Classic.

I can confirm this. Troubles (black screen) on modes other than 3D Classic. Version 24.1, build 39. Windows 10. Laptop, 1920 x 1080.

P.S., this is my laptop. It is robust enough to handle OOTPB, I think.

Go to main settings —> ”3D & Facegen” and change OpenGL Mode to ”Use OpenGL only for 3D”. Should fix it for now.

I reported this as a bug in another thread so hopefully will get fixed at some point.

We should have a hotfix for this soon.

One thing that may help in the meantime, as mentioned above, is if you're seeing this, if you go to main screen > settings > 3d & facegen > Open GL Mode > then select 'Use OpenGL only for 3D'

Please try that out and let us know if you still see this after that or not.

I can only say that it was better, but not foolproof. The webcast screen crashed twice; others seemed to be okay.

For anyone having these issues, we've made a build that will hopefully fix the black screens and crashing when pinch-hitting for a pitcher or switching to or from 2d modes.

If you're on Steam, you can access this by doing the following:

Joining the OOTP 24 beta

Open Steam client -> Library
Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 24
Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
Click on the beta tab.
Open the beta pull-down and select "beta". The password is ootp24betapt
Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
Open the client again. It should then download the beta build if there is one

If you're on the standalone/Fastspring version then please download and install the patch from any of the following links:

Windows: https://cdnfiles.ootpdevelopments.co...otp24setup.exe

Mac:
https://cdnfiles.ootpdevelopments.co...4Installer.dmg

Please let us know if this fixes the crashing issues for you (and also runs smoothly otherwise). We'd like to release this as a hotfix asap but need a few more eyes on this first to make sure things are properly fixed. Thanks
