Created Draft Pools

One of the patches in OOTP23 significantly changed the Future Draft Pools, making the hitters crazy good.

I have had to reduce player creation from 1.000 for all hitters to .900.

We use a 20-80 rating scale and if I create a whole new draft pool with the default of 1.000, it creates AT LEAST 30 players that are 80 POT and have off the chart hitting ratings. I know some of them will fizzle out or lose ratings, but I believe this is an issue and should be looked at.

Thanks.

I think some of this is more a case where scouting tends to overrate too many guys than that there are actually too many good guys.

If you turn scouting off does this look more reasonable?

We did change things at one point in 23 though, because the players were just generating as being too bad. So while the changes helped for default setups, if you had a setup that already created more players or had adjusted PCM's because too few good players were being created, I can see how you might've needed to downgrade the PCM's after we adjusted that.

Hey Lukas,

Shutting off Scouting does show a better range, so maybe if I turning the scouting accuracy up a notch, it will help. Scouts obviously see players differently, but I doubt that most of the scouts see 30 batters as being a 5 star rating in the same draft.

Appreciate the quick response.

Yeah, I tend to think we need to tone down the scouts optimism a bit (or maybe just OSA).

It's on the list of things to take a closer look at sometime, before too long.

Lukas so I did some testing. Even with 100% scouting accuracy on, leaving the default at 1.000 for player creation is crazy good for all players. Just ran it again and 35 players with 75-80 POT.

I toned the player creation for all things to .940 and found a good setup, but I think it is something you guys may want to look at ASAP bc other leagues are going to end up having a bunch of SuperStar teams.

We can take a look at this for sure.
