PT+ is a great value

My days of a free player are over because this package is too good to pass up. The extra tournament slot if it were the only benefit would make the package worthwhile.

100% agree. I hadn't made purchases in the past because as a tournament grinder, there wasn't a ton of benefit. This makes it totally worthwhile, and the price point isn't prohibitive. And I don't think it removes the fun for FTP players either - though it would be hard to be competitive without PT+. I'm happy to support the game at this level - it's definitely given me a lot of enjoyment and this feels like a good step.

Definitely positive EV in my opinion. I'm confused about the limit of 24 months per account. Is that the same as per license, or per team (of which there are three per license, possibly meaning 8 months total for all 3)?

Can someone who knows for sure (not just guessing or assuming) please confirm. Thanks.

Enjoy the new game everyone!

Chess, last night in the twitch stream they mentioned that 24 months were the max due to how long OOTP 24 will be running. Sounds like in 2025 the server will shut down, thus there is not a 25th month to use.

Please correct me if I misunderstood.

That's how I understood it as well. To keep from having to renew each month, you could buy up to 24 months in advance. It was slightly odd phrasing but that's what I think the result is.

Will a PT+ subscription apply to all 3 teams on a license, or just 1?

I hope everyone loves their + purchase, but hopefully we can have an option to join leagues without + members until PL or something. This reminds me of why I stopped playing Madden and mobile Mobile games. If the game is Pay to Compete free players are just AI for the paid accounts to beat up on.

If so, that's the point of my question. I use all three of my accounts on the license actively and would want PT+ on all three, so does that mean I can only do that for eight months?

Or does it mean I can only get PT+ once per license? Similar to drops I would assume then, but not sure so I am asking for clarification please.

Sorry, but I am still confused.

You could purchase separately for the 3 accounts for the full time. The limitation is more that we do not want people to purchase it for longer than the expected cycle of the game.

I understand the perspective, but I also don't know why the FTP takes so much pride in only spending the cost of the base game (GO notwithstanding) when that still costs money. For a game that continually updates, I think 7 bucks a month is totally reasonable. It was always the case that being competitive in this game required either 1) a huge investment of money or 2) a huge investment of time, and this actually makes it harder for the whales to dominate the grinders, which is a huge plus (for me). It definitely benefits my style of play so of course I'm in favor, but if it had been $20 bucks a month I'd feel really differently. It seems pretty reasonable to me.

Fair enough Matt. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Now to persuade my wife to let me increase my OOTPB budget. Wish me luck.

Yeah, I concur (mostly). I see the PT-plus option as a way to narrow the gap between me & others on a budget, compared to the whales. I can see that it works to the disadvantage of those who are FTP. Bottom line is that we all play at the level that our investment of time, money and expertise allows. The more levels that exist, the more interesting the game IMHO.

I am very happy for the PT+. As others have stated here it seems well worth 7 bucks. I think it is a much better return than buying PP here and there along the way or relying only on tournaments and Twitch. My intention is to buy 12 months for my team. I have played subscription games before including WoW for 15 years. Other games always cost me more than $7.

It's an individual choice. Use it or not. Refund or not. But I have to ask why people ask for a refund and then come here and scream at the sky?

Effectively

For your $7 a month for the first year, you will get 348 regular packs, 60 silver packs, and 12 each gold, historical, and diamond packs. Plus, you will get a 50% bonus for every achievement, which will probably be worth at least 250,000 PP's. Also the extra tournament slots will be a boon to those who use them. And there will be bonuses for those who purchase packs, and monthly "surprise" bonuses. Finally you will get an immediate and significant boost to the ballparks available to you.

Ok, this discussion is very one-dimensional. For every good discussion there needs to be at least two points of view. Since there have been only pro pt plus opinions in here so far i guess it’s up to me to represent the other side.

The argument is you get a ton of packs for 6,99 $, you get items with a net worth higher than your pay. Well, my argument is: everybody will get this. This of course will have influence on card prices and the resulting inflation will burn everything you expect to be a win. Under the final line you will pay about 80 $ (6,99 $ x 12 till everybody leaves for pt25) more for a game you already payed 35,99 $. The game purchase is already high enough and i don’t see any need in paying an extra 80 bucks to be at least a tiny bit of competitive. You can call pt plus many names but it is F2P killer for sure. It’ll allow the company to grow in sales for short terms but it will limit itself in growing its player base. I have already made my decision to leave and therefore not even spend the 35,99 $. I hope management made a wise choice. I just don’t see it!

@Luidenfuisse

Nonsense. Most people run all 3 teams their game purchase allows. Very few will pay for PT+ for all of those teams. So you will still be able to compete with at least 60% of the teams out there if you are good enough at FTP.

Sorry I spelled you name wrong.

Nonsense is not really an argumentation is it?

To still be competitive with 60 % of the player base is not really attractive to me. In pt23 f2p still allowed to be competitive except for the whales. And there’s not too many of them. Pt plus is a do it or leave it kind of choice. The boost will be huge at the beginning and lead to a point where it won’t be able to catch up for a f2p. You will still need to be good at what you’re doing. But being a good player won’t help you catch up to the pt plus guys.

I hate games where your wallet decides if you’re good or not

One of the best parts of PT is that there are eight levels for people to enjoy! (Rookie, Stone, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Perfect). There are plenty of tiers and trophies for the F2P crowd to win! It also wouldn't shock me if one of the F2P savants still took home a PL trophy this year.
