Linux?

My son is the primary OOTP player, but I'd like to replace Win10 with Linux Mint. OOTP is the only thing stopping me.

Through Steam, will OOTP 24 work on Linux?

How about OOTP 23?

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,
You can play OOTP on Linux through steam. For more information about system requirements check out the steam store page https://store.steampowered.com/app/1...rk_Baseball_24

Excellent, thank you for this.

I read somewhere that there are some parts of the game not compatible with Linux. Can you confirm that the Steam Linux version works 100% the same as a PC?

I have not run the Windows version (well, hardly ever), but as best as I can tell everything works. This is on Ubuntu 20.04/Gnome, OOTP23 (IIRC, there used to be issues opening reports in a browser, but I just tried it and had no problems). Is there something specific you wanted to confirm?

Cheers,

Yes, thanks for that. I read somewhere that Perfect Team does not work on Linux. My son plays that part of it quite a bit!

Thanks much!

I don't play PT, but I do recall having started it up, created a team, and got to the bronze level IIRC, a long while back. I think it was with OOTP23.
Cheers!

I run Manjaro Linux (not a pro), but for gaming reasons and how clunky even the modern Linux desktops really are, I just stay on my Windows 10 boot most of the time. If there ever comes a day where there aren't 10,000 variations of everything on Linux, and a gozillion dependancy issues, I'll go back to Linux.

I run OOTP 23 in a virtual box on ArcoLinux. Runs fine. There is a setting change I had to make to make it work. Only drawback I see is it uses allot of ram and disk space.
