Association Fixes?

I know this has come up a few times on various suggestion threads, but have there been any updates or tweaks to how Associations work? It would be great to get more functionality with these:

• more rule-sharing options
• shared historical drafts instead of just fictional
• fully sortable combined career stats including retired players
• shared career/single season record pages

I know these have come up elsewhere so this is more an ask about whether any of these were included in 24, rather than new suggestions. I've already pre-ordered, but with my Promotion/Relegation league these changes and others would be awesome.

More functionality for these would be great.

As far as I know I don't think there's any really a way to go back and easily look at who played/beat who in the association playoffs, with it just listing the winners for each season.

Shared HOF would be great too but let's be honest associations haven't been touched for years

Yes, absolutely - forgot to mention this one. Shared HOF with complete stats - it's so irritating that this can't be done. And I've only started using Associations this year - it's to bad they've been neglected in recent years, especially as I can't imagine some of this at least would be too hard to fix.

Associations hasn't been touched since they were introduced

Honestly as crazy as it may sound this would be the thing I'd want to see added to make me purchase this version for me!

If they somehow just add this tiny feature, they have my money. If they don't, Ill stick to the versions I already own.

And another: the option to receive news only from Major Leagues. If I want news from my association in one spot, I have to select news from the entire world and then filter through messages from the minors - the only other option is news from my league, which is one of four in the association.

My main wish has always been for playoff history, like preserving the tournament trees and champion listings. I tracked mine in a big notebook, pretty unwieldy after a couple decades

IIRC the devs have said before that basically no one uses associations, so there are no plans to update them.

It's a catch-22, associations have been given little attention and as a result have almost no utility, so no one uses them. Because no one uses them, the devs don't given associaitons any attention so they don't improve.

I have gone down the rabbit hole several times of designing a whole world with pro-reg leagues or multiple continents all connected with associations only to quickly abandon it once I remember the associations don't actually work like I want them too. Just shared statistics and HOF would go so far.

Associations are associations in name only and have been nothing but skeletons from their first implementation. I know because I'm the one who came up with the idea for them. I have been nothing but disappointed in their implementation from day one. And I don't see them improving them ever. I gave up on that a long time ago.

If they weren't so bare bones and actually updated more of us would use them but since they are a bares shell that offer very little if anything to the game of course we never use them.

They made a big deal of them the first year they were introduced then left to rot

I'm not a developer but it doesn't seem like much in the above thread would require a ton of work. No one's asking for a huge overhaul, mostly just adjustments to info displays. But sounds like all of this has been said before and will be said again.

They've been in...4 versions now? 5? And every other change and patch has been too critical to add a history screen to tournaments? Or alternately, since they did such a nice job with tournaments, tweak those to be workable as associations and get rid of the association clutter. I don't know about a combined draft but that doesn't work anyway so that's not much of a loss. Some additional selection tools to populate the tournament/association.

I use combined draft and it works just fine for me. I don't use the association tournament feature (mine is a promotion/relegation league). So I need associations, and I've been able to make some of the info stuff work, but just like getting real usable BBRef style stat displays, it could be so much better and easier. I mean, such is life, and this is still by far the best baseball game out there and I'm happy to fork over my money.

Associations were introduced in OOTP13, tournaments in 18.

Combined draft absolutely does work.

Seconding that. I've used the Combined Draft repeatedly in OOTP23 without any notable issues.
