How to get custom schedule and trading deadline to stick

I've been playing around with a new fictional league setup and testing a few things.

I found a schedule I wanted to use and imported it before the first season.

I simmed through a test season and it used the custom schedule, but after that season, for year 2 it reverted back to the original schedule....

And every time I import the new schedule and sim through a year, by the next year it has gone back to the original generated schedule.. so I'm having to import it before every single year.

Similarly, for some reason my trading deadline got changed to April 18 (likely to do with the generated schedule, as it's a league with 18 games, spread out over 18 weeks, but the game generates an 18 game schedule that is over in a few weeks) .. so every season at the preseason I change the trade deadline to July 18 ... but by next season it bumps back (with the schedule) to April 18 ..

How do I get these two things to stick so I don't need to continually adjust them every year?

Do you have promotion / relegation? In my fictional league I use a schedule were teams play 5 games per week. Without promotion / relegation this custom schedule is regenerated each year perfectly by the game with teams shuffled so they play different teams at different times. However with promotion / relegation active this custom schedule is always replaced by a schedule were the offdays are ignored and teams play 7 games per week. So in the original schedule 88 games are played spread out over 136 days, but in the new schedule these 88 games are scheduled in less than a 100 days. This also means that some dates, like trading deadline and roster expansion now fall outside of the regular season and these dates are also replaced.

This is a bug that has been around for a long time. A bit annoying to reload the schedule each offseason and replace the roster expansion dates. I suspect this bug is related to promotion / relegation so I wonder if you use this?

Yes, it is a pro/rel league, there you have it. I've got an 18-game schedule, one game per week NFL style... so without the proper schedule the season is over in a few weeks.

It was really frustrating when I thought it was a game setting I had messed up somehow, but as long as I know it's something I'll need to do every preseason, that's not so bad as it only takes about 30 seconds.
