Your ________land Athletics, a DIY kit

The most mobile franchise in baseball history may be on the move again if they don't get $855M in infrastructure development and tax increment financing from Oakland. And OOTP fans like to move them, at least those of us nerds that like tinkering with uniforms.

A few days ago I posted a set for the Portland A's and the Las Vegas A's. I used lighter shades of green for those, more the kelly varieties they used in the Charlie Finley era. But it occurred to me that if I made a default, generic set, anyone that found a good wordmark for a new home could gin up a road jersey could do that, and post it, and we'd have a little library of unis for the American League's travelling team. You could just add a new road uni to the base set and use the same logos, caps, and home jersey.

SFGiants58's various designs for the team on his threads on the sportslogos.net forums include a whole bunch of useful pieces, and I mined those for my Portland/LV sets. I'll pick up some of the details from those sets especially for main/shoulder logos.

If anyone is motivated to jump in with a road uni, please do so! For coloring your wordmarks and setting the Jersey Creator, use 00491e (R0/G73/B30) and ffb81c (R255/G184/B28). I'm using sleeve stripe 2 bicolor, and turn the shading down a little (if you want to match). Here are the generic logos for the _____ Athletics!

First tools for the kit... maybe they never moved in your universe? Maybe they want another team in the NY/NJ/PHI region? You find a reason; I recolored these designs from SFGiants58's "Defunct Saga". I think they work with the base unis because the shoulder logo is Connie Mack's "white elephant", dating from their time in PHI in the first place. I'm not crazy about the script, but it's a decent way to bridge the current road look and a way-too-long hometown name. Logo and wordmark from SFGiants58's defunct saga.

Again, maybe Symington won! Or maybe Kansas City beat Charlie O in court. Either way, here is a road uni for that. I think the home and road ones with the plain A would make more sense, but these are nice too.

If you use the home white alt with "A's" on it, this can be the corresponding road grays, and you'll have a team from anywhere you want! I omitted the sleeve stripes and bicolor piping because it looked too busy.

SFGiants58 did one of these sets too, but there wasn't much in terms of new elements (the elephant is the one I used for the Portland set I did the other day). But the away wordmark is nice and easy to recolor.

Another SFGiants58 Defunct Saga design... in the days of the Memphis Tams there was a chance that this would have happened.

Andrew Zimbalist and others have made some good arguments showing that the cartel should have a third team in the largest media market in the country, and I sometimes use these for those. The wordmark isn't the greatest, but I started using these before there were away jerseys IIRC.

Loving this thread. My research shows that Finley would have called the team the Kentucky Athletics, instead of Louisville. Would you have time to whip that up too?

Not sure what you're asking, I did a Vegas set last weekend and made the Sac jerseys here to go with the white elephant logo above.

I have an idea for a setup involving SAC, so I changed the Portland logo (in turn based on the Seattle A's logo SFGiants58 made on sportslogos). I like it.
