Why Can't This Game Do Tie-Breakers Correctly?

I just finished my regular season in my custom game and EVERY tie-breaker is incorrect in my opinion. I don't know if there is any difference in tie-breakers with the custom game. My playoffs are set as division winners getting the top two seeds in the conference with the other 6 spots as wild cards (as the NHL used to do until 3 or 4 seasons ago).

I have inserted a picture of my final conference standings. Florida, Quebec, St. Louis, and San Jose were the division winners.

The biggest problem is that Colorado and Seattle are tied for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. Colorado has more wins, ROW's, and a better goal differential than Seattle, yet Seattle made the playoffs.

Other tie breakers are wrong as well. Montreal and Washington were tied but Montreal got the higher playoff seeding despite Washington leading in wins, row's, and goal differential. The same goes for the tie between Vancouver and Edmonton.

What are the tie-breakers supposed to be in FHM?

Just to add:

I don't play shootouts. I play 5 on 5 overtime for 10 minutes with ties if no one scores. I don't know if this factors in to the FHM tie-breakers or not, but I figured you should know.

Another thing, I was looking at the NHL tie-breakers and the first one is regulation wins alone. There is no column for this in the standings so I don't know, without scouring through the teams game results, how many of their games were won in OT.

My apologies.

I've added up all of the tied teams Regulation wins and the game does the tie-breaker correctly. The team with the most regulation wins was the higher seed.

The only real complaint here then is that, since I play 5 on 5 for ten minutes in overtime with no loser point awarded, a regulation and an OT win are equal in my league. It's not like the NHL, that knows their stupid 3 on 3 overtime and then shootout is a joke and they have to emphasize regulation wins more. Perhaps someday you can have choices for tie-breakers in FHM
