Does "Peak" really mean best season?

For example, the Vida Blue Build-a-line-up card states Peak on the card but lists 1974 in its title, but 1974 is NOT his best season, it is obviously 1971. So does "Peak" mean best season or does it mean something else? Can someone help me understand this? what exactly does "Peak" mean?

What I figure is that 1974 is the mid-point of his peak years, which would be 1971-1976. Also works for Brandon Crawford, Armando Benitez, Glen Perkins, and Tom Glavine, although Glavine really has two peaks.

Peak is supposed to represent the best season in every category, not one particular season. But, the game has to assign a year to every card.

Thanks

However, take Sandy Koufax, his HoF card lists the year as the last year he played. I don't think that can be the middle of his peak!!

The year on a Peak Card is essentially just what logo to assign the card (and what era they are eligible for in tournaments).

Koufax is that weird case of a guy going out on top. I think about that every time I see certain players who used to be great and are now Live 52's, and I picture them sitting at the end of the dugout while their teammates grumble about how Mister Live 52 is getting paid ten times as much as them for next to no production.
