10 year contract/extensions

Does the AI sign players to 10 year contracts/extensions on default settings? I have adjusted many league and financial settings and unfortunately most contracts are five years. At most, the AI will sign someone to an 8 year extension.

Leaving realism aside, I would like most free agent contracts to be above 5 years and to have at least 2-3 ten year contacts signed per offseason.

Please only help if you actually have long term contracts being signed in your league! I have noticed the "obvious" solutions don't help. But I am definitely willing to listen if your league has many players being signed to long term deals.

Thanks for your help!!

If you make arb happen after year 1 you get a lot more long term deals

Now that you mention it, it is extremely rare to see 10 year AI contracts but that is normal because only the top 1% would be offered those types of deals.

However, with the increase in 10+ year contracts in real life, I do wish they offered the ability to choose up to 15 year contracts in the game settings. I've wanted to lock up 2-3 year service time players for the rest of their career and the 10 year max setting doesn't cover that.

Specifically I had arb after year 1 and KBO style arb. Not sure if that last part matters. Might though. Makes players wanna lock in dough

Thanks for the suggestions. I have lowered arbitration in the past and that helps with extensions. although at most i will see 8 year extensions. I still never see 10 year free agent signings.

I appreciate everyone's input so far.
