Steam Cloud
Neither OOTP 23 nor FHM 9 save to Steam Cloud although both are set to do so. It's not my system, I don't believe, as another game which is cloud enabled works fine.
Message in Steam is 0 bytes stored / 93GB available. Cloud status is "Up to Date". I've searched the web looking for answers but have not yet found a solution. Any help would be appreciated. |

Jibberish characters as team names -- cannot fix
Accidentally switched language from English to Korean, and when I switched back, about 3/4 of team names and nicknames were jibberish characters that were not editable.
How can I edit these fields back to their original English cities and nicknames? |

You should be able to edit the Team and all its characteristics from Team Settings. Or alternatively, from the League menu going to the League structure and just typing over whatever is there currently in the team city & name. Are you in Challenge Mode? - as that might make editing anything more difficult.

This has been going on to some extent since this purchase. Not really a deal breaker because most of the time it fixes itself but it annoying.
I play out most of my games and typically everything runs just fine. However, every 5-8 games at some point randomly during the game the game will become choppy and just start skipping through plays until that half inning is over in which it will start working fine again. That problem is easy enough to get over, the issue is about 20 percent of the time it does this and never comes back and completely freezes so I have to force close losing whatever I have saved. I recently changed audience quality to low and detail to simplified and switched to OpenGL with Fastblit and still had that issue occur. Any idea's on what might be causing this? 16GB RAM so I wouldn't expect memory to be an issue. |

Download Online League Files Extremely Slow
I've been playing in 3 online leagues (as a non-commissioner) no problem for months. Then today, for no apparent reason, I cannot download files from any league unless I'm prepared to wait 1-2 hours for the download to complete. It used to take less than a minute, now it can be hours.
Is there any way to fix this? Is it possible I've somehow accidentally changed one of the settings? I'm trying to experiment with all different settings, but nothing is working. |

Hi jbergey22, can you turn the debug file output in the setting -> troubleshooting on, play until the game crashes again and send us the debug file? Two files after two crashes would be even better.

I don't know how to really describe what is happening. Essentially, after some period of inactivity (that is, it doesn't happen when actually playing the game), all of the UI becomes unresponsive. Some buttons will reply graphically (that is, they look to "press"), but nothing actually *does* anything.
The window menus will still appear (that is, the upper left and upper right), but again, they don't *do* anything. The only way out is to use Task Manager to kill the process. This is in windows mode. Any thoughts or notions on how to either address or help gather more info?

Hi Makonnen,
a debug trace file would be good, if you can provide us one. You can activate the debug mode in the settings of the game. How long does it take until the game not response anymore? It finally happened again. Have had the game running in the background most days, as well as playing it. Just froze, in-game (it has done this both in and out of game).
I've zipped up the various log files from today. Hope they help, LMK if I can provide any other info ...

Unfortunatelly there is nothing in the trace files that could explain the crash.
May I ask why there are always two trace files? Do you restart the game just after the crash or are the created by the game itself when the crash occurs? |

I left the game running for some hours and did some other stuff on my machine and could continue playing later without any issue.
Is there anything that you've changed when installing it? Custom paths, some custom settings? It should not freeze the game, of course, but there might be some undiscovered bug. Or maybe there is something on your system that optimize applications that could interfere with the game? |

Hey there, just happened again. Yes, the second file must be from when I restart the game to pick up before the crash, go find and zip the crash files, etc.
No, nothing that I can think of--I mean, yes, there are things running on the laptop, like on all laptops, but nothing terribly invasive. The freeze is weird--the UI still animates (buttons depress if you click on them) but no menus drop, and no click action actually *does* anything (so the animation of the button state changes, but nothing actually happens). Unsure if that helps or not. No pattern I can find: has happened in game, has happened in the background, or the one that just happened I was just working on roster management. I'm attaching today's logs, cuz I made them before I saw your response. Is there any help in me continuing to do so? Do I just have to save often and "live with it?"

The trace files don't show the cause of this issue, so we stop looking into them now.
"live with it" is not very satisfying imho, let's try something else. My guess is that something on your machine cause this, but I can't really name it. Do you have access to another PC? If so can you try to play the game there and see if it works without the freeze? I can see that you store some files in your dropbox folder. Can you change the paths (in OOTP23) to a non-dropbox folder? What I could think of is that when a file is accessed by the game and dropbox at the same time it triggers something that cause the freeze. But it's just a guess.
