Clarification about PTCS Weekly on 1-7

I was hoping Dish or Matt could clear this up for me:

Concerning the upcoming PTCS Weekly Tourney - it is set to 1969 - will we need 4 or 5 starters running? Historically, the 5-starter rotation didn't become popular until the early 70s, but it was not unheard of before that - so I would assume 4 starters, but I ask because there is some inconsistency with this in the game.

I.E. there have been formats set in the 40s or 50s and they only required 3 starters, to my surprise - and there have been formats set in the 50s that required 5 starters, also to my surprise.

Normally I just play the modes and figure it out by trial and error, of course - but that's not possible here.

Thanks!

Everything after sometime in the 1920s I believe a 5-man rotation is the default setup. If you load up a base game in the year in question, you can see what the "default" setup for that year would be (generally speaking PT tournaments will run the same setups, although sometimes there are minor variations to account for the PT environment).

Thank you, Matt.

I'm not sure this holds true across the board - again, there are formats that are set much later than the 20s and you can run a 3 or 4 man rotation (one of the Saturday cap tourneys was set in the 40s or 50s for a while and you only needed 3 starters - was a nice thing to realize and a good advantage).

But I'm only concerned about this one tourney, and that's the answer I was looking for. Thanks again!

My bad, didn't realize you worked for OOTP. They should put "OOTP Developer" below your name so it's more clear.
