PSU, you are far from the typical user.
I really don't think there is much interest in ***. While it is never good to have features removed, the only license OOTP needs is MLB. |

I wouldn't go as far as saying there isn't much interest in Japan... it's probably been the 2nd most modded league in the game so there must be interest

No user on the forum knows why *** got banned.
"Com2uS asked us to remove all the data concerning this unlicensed league from OOTP. The reason is updated Com2uS license policies regarding the *** data." It doesn't mention anything of substance. Just that Com2us said remove it. Even though technically we paid for that feature in the game and they removed it a year later instead of just from all future versions. Then the Indy leagues were removed. Devs also didn't replace Japan and Japan Indy's with a fictional template. So it not a few clicks to set up. It's a pain in the ass to set up from scratch. Unless you use a prior version to do the grunt work. Companies have had class action lawsuits filed against them for stuff like this. They removed something we paid for and flat out didn't replace it with anything. But again we have the same forum users saying the same stuff over and over again in defense of the devs. With no acknowledgement of how messed up it is that a huge part was removed a year later that was paid for. They should be giving us refunds. It's bait and switch. Honestly no defense for what the devs did. You got no choice cause corporate overlords Said remove it. Then give it to us a fictional setup in the fictional wizard. What happened was real crappy customer service. If you can't admit crappy customer service then you are a blind fan boy. |

Another thought, they in fact did not remove anything from the game that can't be restored. Don't use either of the last two patches and you have everything you paid for. There are basically no other changes in those patches that are absolutely game breaking changes. They announced in the patch notes what would be changed. So if you still upgraded, that's on you. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a fictional Japan setup in OOTP24 to replace rhe real league becaus why bother going to all that problem after 99.9% of 23's development is done and over? |

Simple you don't remove something a user has paid for already even if it only effects 10% of the user base. Ootp 24 ain't an excuse. They need to do their jobs and replace what they've removed with quick fictional wizards.
Steam by default is setup to auto update and they sell on steam cause PT has popularity on steam. If you want to let em off the hook that's on you. Me I want to hold ootpd accountable. Fine they had no choice. If you can make 2 patches removing everything they could have taken the minimum time required to give us replacement wizards. But again fan boys will be fan boys. So defend away |

Look, I was busy, okay? ![]() I haven't piped up much on the subject, and I will continue to stay quiet on it, but I will say that streaming [LEAGUE REDACTED] for over a year definitely built a good audience, and I bet they played a save or two with this community's mods when they had the chance. Expose people to it, and they'll be interested. Play it, and they will come. |

Certain people like to whine just to hear themselves talk (or type in this case)
.95% of the people complaining about the Japan Indy Leagues could not name who won it in 2022, let alone 2 teams without looking it up, they just have an axe to grind with the company and need some false outrage to pretend they are happy, it's quite comical really. |

they had enough time to create full fictional leagues to take its place. i dont want to have to do anything but hit start and play the game. half the problem ootp has is it takes 5 hours to setup and play. ootp should have multiple setup configs based upon difficulty or realism or whatever. We should be able to click start and play. Not need hours to set up the game to get it to run better. Buy FM, install FM, Click start and play. No setup. No billion configurations to play with. And there are some saying oh its no big deal japan and indys are gone its "only a couple of clicks". It is in no way a couple of clicks. More like a hundred. Then testing. WTH is up with that? Give us a japan template in the wizard that isnt too much to ask for. I dont give a rats a** about ootp 24. no way in hell i am buying it. But I own 23 and I want to play it how i originally bought it. |

To start a game, you click on which playable countries you want in the game, and then possibly which leagues below the top tier you want to include. You can click on entire continents, or individual countries, or a set of countries, or a world game template that someone else has set up, or on just one country. There are also FM Editor files people make with custom league setups for playable and "non-playable" nations that you can include to further customize your in-game experience. Each different country has a slightly different start date in the game universe, so if you pick a club to start managing immediately instead of starting unemployed that has an impact on the exact date you start in the summer or winter. If you start unemployed, then you might have to consider which nation you pick as the one you "start" in because of its in-game start date. Depending on the specs of your computer or laptop, you may have to go into the settings menu and determine the size of your player and staff database (small/medium/large) in order to help the game run as efficiently as possible on your computer. From there, you can select individual countries and decide if you want some, most, or all of their players and staff that are in the master DB loaded into the game from the start for the sake of immersion and realism. If you're playing for the first time, or want to play using a different personality, you have to create a biography that considers things like like highest level of football you played at "amateur/pro/FIFA international", and there are personality point sliders you can jigger around with to determine what type of manager people think you are. These things determine how you are initially received in the game universe. When you start a game, it's recommended that you look at the Club Responsibilities menu to see what different aspects of off-field activity different members of the "back room" are responsible for (scouting, signings, etc), so if there are things that you do or don't want to do you can change them as you see fit. Before you get a chance to play, there is typically an introductory press conference where you have to decide answers to various questions, and those answers can have a knock-on affect on how your initial interactions with the squad go. There is a (typically recommended) initial squad overview with your coaching and scouting personnel team in which they talk about various aspects of your squad, and which areas you want to focus on when it comes to player recruitment. In there, you can tweak various staff & scouting settings. And this is frequently all before you really move more than a day or two on the in-game calendar. If you want to compare OOTP to FM, that's fine to do even without considering the size of the respective companies that produce them. At the very least, I ask that you just not flagrantly lie about it. Last edited by tm1681; 12-31-2022 at 09:32 AM. |

The sooner the better, *** is an important part of the real baseball world and OOTP shouldn't be without. I am not patching my OOTP23 after the downgrading of the game was announced. |

Everyone who thinks they were cheated let's calculate the percentage of the game that was removed and on that basis refund them 35 cents.

The idea that an optional patch 8 months after release making changes due to a legal licensing issue 5 days before Christmas needs to come with a full refund of the game because of content they were legally required to remove is laughable. "Yes, we acknowledge the letter you have sent that forces us to stop using your trademark/etc immediately. Just please hold on, we'll stop in a month or two once everyone gets back from holidays and we've had time to put in a workaround for our users" |

Isn't it also true that FM does not include any Japanese soccer league for the same reason that licensing in Japan is really hard to work out a mutually beneficial agreement without costing the software company a lot of revenue that would directly impact the customer in the end?
And anyone who would say that OOTP has terrible customer service because they are looking out for their bottom line just has an axe to grind for some reason and should never be taken seriously (see the many posts they have made, all saying the same thing in just different words.). Anyway, Happy New Year everyone! Last edited by DJ_Jak_32; 12-31-2022 at 12:56 PM. |
