No worries mate, I'm from the UK too so it's all adopted for me also. I'm learning on the fly.

So the Ivy League Schools are all in the ECAC conference, here's something from wiki:

Ivy League Teams
Six Ivy League universities with Division I ice hockey programs are members of ECAC Hockey. Those schools are: Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell, Yale, Princeton, and Brown University.

Future suggestion: some sort of indication regarding their academic status/reputation would be helpful in the team profile.

They are all identifiable as having an 'Elite' Academic Reputation in their team data page, so that's how you can flag them afaik. Apart from Cornell which has 'Excellent'. It's worth getting used to visiting that screen more often on NCAA saves than normal saves, as it has info on the tuition costs, market size and scholarships too, which are relevant for reasons stated in my original response!

No problem, that's one thing that has always struck me with FHM, there a lot of cool details included that you would likely never even know about! So any time I can share details of the ones I am aware of I try to do so!

Will be interested to know how your NCAA save goes!

Yeah everyone who started a save since the initial hotfix last week.

It raised the budgets and starting staff for NCAA teams but something happened to their wage demands which means it's out of kilter. Thankfully if you had a save before the hotfix it seems to be unaffected.

They've said it should (hopefully) be fixed for the patch at the end of next week.

I've played through a few seasons now of NCAA and have a few observations, issues (maybe user error), and suggestions.

First, I'm psyched this was added this year and overall very happy with my purchase.

1. The coach and gm carousel seems to happen before the league year ends, and so you never seem to really have an opportunity to change jobs/teams unless you leave (risk not getting a job?) or are fired unless you are in commish mode. Would be nice to have a mini-game here to see the jobs changing hands like the old 2k NCAA basketball game did.

1a. Even when my contract was up, I didn't have a choice to renew, just told me it was renewed for 4 more years.

2. At the end of every year I've lost between 5-8 players, non of them have aged out, or gone to the NHL, and they were definitely good enough to continue on my roster. Some find their way on to other amateur level teams and others are FA. I have my settings as far as I know, to manual for all gm/coach duties so I'm not sure why they are being released. I can see it occurring right around the same time the seniors leave in April in the transaction log - just says 'released by [team]' or something along those lines. The kicker is after 3 years of this my roster is depleted and I'm having a hard time figuring out the walk on mechanic to fill out my roster for season #4. I've clicked on it a number of times but haven't got it to work yet.

2a. This also sort of conflicts with the scholarship management as well, as I find out these scholarship players leave after my opportunity to use the scholarships is over. So for example, I'm going into my next season with 5 scholarships shorter than the 18 I should be allocated.

3. Suggestion: There should be an email/recognition when/if your team makes the conference tournament and/or the ncaa tournament. Ideally a selection show like the HOF works in the sim.

4. Suggestion: There should also be an email that details the players who leave, the reason, and maybe their career stats. Just another suggestion to add to the immersion.

5. Way too many suspensions imo.

Anyway, again, love the game - already played a bunch and will continue so. Just figured I'd provide the feedback and see if anyone else is having these problems - maybe its something I'm doing.

It would probably be worth posting some of this in the bugs forum so Jeff can pick it up and look at it. Especially the stuff about the coach and gm carousel changing before the end of season and scholarship issues.

Have a look at it now, we fixed a couple of things in the update that were causing premature departures.

One thing I just noticed at the college level (just purchased FHM9...only because I didn't realize the game was even in development, much less released!)...in build 9.1.70, the quarterfinals are bracketed 1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4, 5 vs. 6, and 7 vs. 8, with 1/2 vs. 3/4 meeting in the semis, as well as 5/6 vs. 7/8. Pretty sure this needs to be corrected.

I'm having this issue as well. I only had 2 goalies on my roster and 1 went to play in an international tournament. So I can't start the next game without putting a 2nd goalie on my line. Unfortunately, I'm clicking the walk on goalie button in the roster actions, and nothing is happening. Pretty sure this is how I did it before to find a walk on winger. I also tried just putting a defensemen as the 2nd goalie and hope I don't need him to play -- but it wouldn't let me do that.

Tried booting couple players off the roster in case I was at max or something, that didn't work either.

Edit: just tried adding walk ons for other positions. It worked for a couple of them (center, LD), others nothing happened.

Can you upload that save (instructions here)? I have a suspicion about what's going wrong there, but I'd like to see the save to confirm it.

Sure no problem. I believe I did it correctly. I added "MSU take 2.lg.rar" to the FTP server.

Find time to look into this? I have it in another save now too. Think its just a bug that you cant sign walk on goalies.
